This position is for Beckman Coulter team located at Danaher India Development Center (IDC), Bangalore

IDC is a research and development center with the vision of accelerating product roadmaps across various Danaher business segments. Started in 2014, the center now hosts 500+ associates, for multiple Danaher operating companies focusing on Diagnostics, Life Science, and Environmental and Applied Science segments. The operating companies includes Beckman Coulter, Radiometer, Leica Biosystems, Danaher Digital, Hach, Leica Microsystems, HemoCue, Videojet, SCIEX, IDBS and Cepheid.

The IDC workforce comprises of various product engineering teams, working on development of software and hardware components of ground breaking products for, Immunoassay, Chemistry, Hematology, Molecular diagnostics, Oncology, Neurosurgery and Water Quality. IDC has evolved as center of excellence for Cloud and data analytics, with significant contributions to the key informatics solutions. The teams consist of highly hardworking software & hardware engineers and development managers. The teams are supported by local Product managers, Quality & Regulatory and Intellectual property specialists.

The inhouse teams works in close coordination with other global R&D centers at US, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, Denmark and Sweden. Located at the center of Bangalore IT HUB, IDC is housed at state of art facility, measuring 120 K

Description

The position of Privacy & Security Engineer collaborates with the Senior Manager / Software Development Manager, Clinical Chemistry & Immunoassay (Chem. IA) R&D with the primary responsibility to guide privacy and security (P&S) design, implementation and management of Windows-based medical devices. The incumbent will work on application security design specifications and testing. The role will require active coordination with multiple partners at other Beckman R&D centers.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform vulnerability assessment and secure code review on periodic basis and report the findings to the product management.

  • Develop mitigations/resolutions to vulnerabilities assessed, in conjunction with the development teams

  • Support in the investigation and fixing the defects on the windows-based applications.

  • Develop Threat Models in coordination with various product development teams.

  • Collaborate with various product development teams to identify vulnerabilities and needed mitigations.

  • Participate in the investigation related to Privacy/Security incidents and response activities

  • Participate in the cybersecurity compliance and review of the products

  • Documentation of the security features and assessment.

  • Audit and develop artifacts to support compliance for product security compliance assessments.

  • Work with the Devops to implement the security tools and automation of the security tasks.

  • Knowledge in working with Security modules like Encryption, Authentication and Authorization.

  • Good knowledge and understanding of the security concepts like CIA, Defense in Depth and Data Security and RBAC.

  • Minimum two years’ experience in SDLC and Azure Devops.

  • Good knowledge of windows environments and different versions of windows.

  • Excellent conceptual, problem-solving and oral/written communication skills.

  • Proven ability to deliver high quality results in a timely fashion while working on different projects concurrently.

Desired Characteristics

  • Industry-recognized certification such as SSCP, CEH etc.

  • Experience with Healthcare products is good to have

  • Good knowledge of windows environments and different versions of windows.

  • Good knowledge of windows security modules and their configurations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field with 8 – 10 years of proven experience

  • Knowledge in analyzing the open source solutions assessments.

  • Knowledge in working with Security modules like Encryption, Authentication and Authorization.

  • Good knowledge and understanding of the security concepts like CIA, Defense in Depth and Data Security and RBAC.

  • Proven expertise across a range of operating systems and environments, such as MS Windows, Linux, Embedded OS

  • Hands on experience with security tools and products like Microsoft Threat Modeling Tool, Nessus, Black Duck, etc.

  • Hands on experience with Secure Development Lifecycle and testing, threat modeling, secure communication, cryptographic algorithms, certificates, PKI, key management.
