The HR Director for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics leads to a team of 3-4 HR professionals, and S/HE is responsible for developing and executing HR strategy in support of the business objectives including providing expertise and guidance in the areas of culture and change management, strategic coaching, talent assessment and development, succession planning, performance management, and organizational design.

The Director oversees activities supporting Diversity & Inclusion, employee relations, compliance, HR operational activities, local initiatives, and engagement; and holds overall responsibility on Workers Council strategy and the execution of it at the Operations site, as well as on Compensation & Benefits and Payroll.

In addition, you will:

  • Act as HR Business Partner to the global General Manager of Automation & Customer informatics Technology.

  • Collaborate with Centre of Excellence (CoE) functions within Beckman Coulter Dx and Danaher to ensure the full range of people related processes (Recruitment, Talent Development, People Management, Performance Management, Learning Management and Compensation Management) are delivered with excellence.

  • Partner closely with the European functional HR Leads as well as the wider team also in the US.

This position is part of global HR team located in Munich, onsite in Großhadern.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Drive people agenda for the region (Munich, Germany & Arras, France) to acquire, develop, engage, and retain exceptional talent to drive long-term performance and results

  • Coach and lead senior leaders through key people related topics, supporting these leaders in their own skill development in DE&I, Engagement, and Talent Management & Development

  • Establishing a collaborative Works Council relationship, outline Works Council strategy, leading Works Council negotiations as required; Manage GDPR on Danaher and Beckman Coulter IT tools with Works Council

  • Champion engagement to enable an environment where associates are engaged and developing with a goal to make us the employer of choice in the region

  • Partner with global HR leadership team to support implementation and delivery of local actions to realize ambitions for HR global strategic initiatives

  • Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • University’s degree with several years of relevant HR experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading an HR team and HR Business Partnering within a large multinational global (for profit) organization

  • Experience partnering with leaders and handling complex issues across remote and field-based associate populations; working across a global matrixed HR organization

  • Experience partnering with Works Council and sound knowledge of German labor laws, and government requirements; and ability to coach and build these skills with direct reports

  • Demonstrated success in organizational design and change management (initiating, planning, leading, implementing), in a global, matrixed environment.

  • Excellent communication skills in German and English

  • Availability to travel locally to our factory plant in Baierbrunn and periodically outside Germany, to France and US (ca 15% travel)

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • LEAN or Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies

  • Working as HR leader in a science & technology company

  • Project management applied to complex workforce development initiatives
