Danaher Corporation Operator III - Test Strips - Weekend Day Shift in Ames, Iowa

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Test Strips Operator III is responsible for assisting the Shift Leads and Area Manger with a host of administrative functions, to include but limited to directing the priorities of work for the other associates in the department. Quality verification, training, and resolving issues/inaccuracies with orders. May also, Float positions and change over machine setups.

SCHEDULE: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 6:00 AM-6:30 PM. Overtime may be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in a variety of team activities including: Team meeting, audits, project planning and implementation meeting, DBS (Danaher Business System) events, cross-training as needed, assisting with the new hire training for all Test Strip associate, comply with all Danaher Standards of Business conduct guidelines, comply with all Departmental Standard Work guidelines and Work Instructions.

  • Audit and inspect orders before staging and shipping. Audits include checking for proper labeling and verifying that the documents match the cartons packed.

  • Escalate inventory inaccuracies to inventory control.

  • Work collaboratively with Material Handlers to ensure that all lines are pre-staged with materials and ready for production.

  • Identify, report, and correct any/all inventory discrepancies.

  • Work collaboratively with Test Strips Leadership to identify, initiate, and close out NCN paperwork.

  • Work collaboratively with Test Strips Leadership and IT Support Teams to report and resolve and/all IT/IS (information System) shortfalls and/or stoppages. Work collaboratively with other members of the Hach Teams to resolve issues.

  • Comply with company safety & housekeeping polices.

  • Complete daily and weekly 5-S

  • Verify items ensuring order accuracy and consistency.

  • Pack quality products according to standard work and regulation set by compliance department, ensuring quality product is safely delivered to customer.

Other Non-Essential Functions:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Works in other departments as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • At least 2 years of prior operations / manufacturing experience required

  • Previous experience in a trainer role or leadership role preferred

SKILLS:

  • Basic math and reading skills are required.

  • Accurate keyboard data entry.

  • Ability to problem solve.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong organization skills.

The employee is frequently required to walk, climb, balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk, hear, and smell. The Loveland facility requires continuous standing for duration of the shift.

The employee must frequently lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds and or occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to 20 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision. peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures and work space restrictions.

The noise level in work environment is occasionally load.

Employees will be requires to wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which may include: eye, hearing and respiratory protection protective smock, steel toe shoes, gloves, hard hats, or face shields. Contact lenses may not be allowed in some areas.
