Danaher`s Water Quality Business is a global leader in water quality analysis and treatment, providing instrumentation and disinfection systems to help analyze and manage the quality of ultra-pure water, portable water, wastewater, groundwater and ocean water in residential, commercial, industrial, and natural resource applications. Our water quality business provides products under a variety of brands, including HACH, ChemTreat, and Trojan Technologies.

Purpose of Position: As a Programmer Analyst, you will gather system requirements and write specifications, create test plans, write programs, test applications and support existing applications. You will work closely with other IT analysts and technical resources to develop solutions that facilitate process improvements and meet the needs of the organization.

You will be supporting the manufacturing and distribution center use of a wide variety of custom applications, addressing user issues. The job involves developing enhancements, testing updates, writing queries, and performing daily support tasks. It includes programming of ASP.NET (C# or VB) and VB.NET applications and use of SQL to query Oracle and MS SQL Server databases to drive process improvements.

Essential Functions: * Perform daily querying tasks * Trouble shoot and address production support issues in a timely fashion * Work closely with users to create specifications and comprehensive test plans * Execute test plans to ensure the quality of the deliverables to customers * Trouble shoot applications issues and identify root cause * Follow established coding standards and standard operating procedures * Work with business associates to system test applications * Unit test systems and applications and conduct code walkthroughs * Work independently on assigned projects and tasks, effectively using other resources as needed * Adhere to IT policies and procedures * Develop programming skills by supporting and enhancing applications * Develop SQL queries for monitoring and reporting * Support users in designing effective business solutions to their needs * Work with offshore technical resources as required to support the business

Education, Background and Skill Requirements: * Associates, Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science or related field * Good understanding of relational database and programming concepts * Experience with ASP.NET, .NET, Microsoft SQL Server TSQL, Oracle PL/SQL * Strong interpersonal skills * Experience working with Oracle EBusiness Suite is a plus * Experience supporting a manufacturing and/or distribution organization is preferred * Basic understanding of desktop operating systems * Basic understanding of PC hardware and peripherals
