Danaher Corporation Technician I, Production Maintenance in Ames, Iowa
The primary role of this position is to provide technical support for manufacturing production equipment. The Technician identifies problems and implements corrective actions leading to continuous improvements. This role is responsible for installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of production equipment, to include preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
SCHEDULE: Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6:00 AM-6:30 PM. Overtime may be required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform maintenance, installation, machining, and improvement tasks required.
Perform or coordinate review and calibration of equipment.
Perform troubleshooting of problems.
Provide or request purchased tools and equipment as authorized.
Implement corrective actions as needed.
Complete preventive maintenance activities.
Participate on Kaizen Events.
Required to work off-shift or Saturday, as needed, to support production or to maximize up-time on machinery/processes.
Other Non Essential Functions:

HS Diploma or Equivalent required; Associates Degree in related field preferred
1 or more years related experience (i.e.: mechanical installation, machining, etc. as it relates to the job) in an appropriate manufacturing, engineering, or facility environment depending on area of focus.
Ability to troubleshoot/problem solve in a structured, logical manner.
Ability to read and comprehend drawings and other technical information required to perform the assigned task work.
Combination of office skills and hands-on activities: required to lift and move equipment and materials up to 50 lbs. on a daily basis.
Ability to frequently work independently and have the ability to meet daily department goals

The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
Employees will be required to wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which may include: eye, hearing and respiratory protection, protective smock, steel toe shoes, gloves, hard hats, or face shields. Contact lenses may not be allowed in some areas.
