Danaher Corporation Application Consultant in Amsterdam, Netherlands

This position within the Leica Biosystems organization is to deliver first-class application support, training, installations and demonstrations of the Leica Biosystems Instruments with promotion and sales of the Core Histology, Advanced Staining Equipment, Pathology Imaging portfolio and associated consumables. The ultimate objective is to achieve high customer satisfaction with the Leica Biosystems products and Leica Biosystems organization by providing support and workflow optimization.

Focus will be on installation- and application support for current customers and commercial support by taking responsibility for demonstrations and evaluations for the Platforms used in Advanced staining, (high-end) core histology and Pathology Imaging.

The Application Consultant will deliver installations in close cooperation with the Field Service Engineer and deliver full training and applications support to customers in the NEE region. This results in ensuring Leica Biosystems products to have a maximum “uptime” and full functionality. The Application Consultant will also promote all Leica Biosystems consumables and reagents.

The Application Consultant will develop him/herself to be a high level knowledge provider for tech

nical support and applications for customers and will work in close conjunction with partners within the relevant region.

As part of the commercial team the Application Consultant will increase market-share through effective promotion and selling efforts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reagents Sales: “Grow what we have” : Generate and develop sales and product awareness of Leica Biosystems Advanced Staining product portfolio on the Bond platform directly through Customer visits & product information, samples and customer trials.

Follow-up new Reagent leads generated by marketing activities, product presentations & workshops. In conjunction with the Account manager, plan and implement long term initiatives in order to address specific tactical and/or strategic business needs. Be pro-active in customer visits. Record and actively manage activities in Salesforce, where possible.

Demo & Support: In collaboration with the sales and application associates of our distributor partners, support demos of instruments and consumables at customer’s sites. Lead customer visits for demonstration. Participate in seminars and meetings as necessary in order to promote existing and new products to customers, in line with the existing promotional programs and strategies.

Customer Acquisition and business development: Offer proper support to our partners, including current Leica Biosystems users, users of non-Leica Biosystems platforms, Clinical and Research customers. Record all activities in Salesforce where possible.

Market & Competitors Research: Supply information on Market share development, competitor’s activities, trends and market developments in geographic region of responsibility to Sales Management and Marketing. Record customer contacts in Salesforce (where possible) to facilitate marketing requirements.

Training and Support: Performing customer training directly in the demonstration of:

  • Instrument use and optimization

  • Software functionality

  • Protocol development for the customer

  • Leica Biosystems Advanced Staining reagents, Core Histology Consumables & PI software.

  • Provide technical support, with a commercial awareness, to existing customers as required including in-field troubleshooting of applications problems and diagnosing rudimentary hardware and software failures

  • In-office application support including:

  • Special purpose protocol development for specific customer requirements.

  • “Helpline” technical customer support as required

Qualifications

  • Whilst a Degree in a Life Sciences, or equivalent, is nice to have, of equal value is strong experience in the histology processing & advanced staining field.

  • High level of experience and knowledge in histopathology and immunohistochemistry

  • In depth understanding of the requirements and the importance to follow procedures and process as it is a highly regulated sector by the FDA and other governmental bodies.

  • Works with integrity and understands compliance requirements

  • The ability to liaise with fellow Application Consultants, sales team and management within the Business Division – working in collaboration as a team

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

  • Strong commercial awareness at the same time as being a technical troubleshooter

  • Strong leadership and communications – sound business acumen

  • You will work remotely from home and are willing to travel within the region (The Netherlands - Belgium) to visit clients.

  • You are able to work in English but have excellent Dutch language skills (spoken and written).
