We are looking for a Scientist (m/f/d) who will be based in our Amsterdam site.
This position supports Leica Biosystems Amsterdam transition to European IVDR Regulation 2017/746. Our new associate will be responsible for (F)ISH product Performance Evaluation in preparation of technical files complying to the IVDR.
This position is 100% dedicated to deliver performance evaluation reports to the technical files to be used for IVDR submission.
Activities encompass composing PE plans, performing and reporting literature reviews, generating (F)ISH test results, performing data analysis and composing PE reports for (F)ISH products.
Perform & evaluate (F)ISH assays for use in clinical diagnosis in manual and automated staining systems, microscopic slide examination and interpretation of (F)ISH probe hybridization on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue and cell preparations.
Participate in a cross-functional & cross-departmental project team and report major milestones towards major stakeholders.
Master’s degree (or equivalent) or PhD within Medical Sciences. Alternatively an equivalent degree within Chemical Sciences or Biological Sciences.
at least 3 years of experience in the Biomedical field; alternatively experience in the Chemical field or Biological field, including knowledgeable about IVDR and especially Product Performance Evaluation.
Experienced with (F)ISH assays and commercial products.
Understanding of human cytogenetics, histological/ immunohistochemical and molecular biology techniques and their use in clinical diagnostic settings.
Experienced in applying Risk Management strategies according to e.g. ISO 14971:2012 in Performance Evaluations is beneficial.
Proficient English is a must
Overall travel expectations within this role are minimal (<10%), but exceptions may occur.
Effective in scientific literature review, writing of scientific plans, performing laboratory tests, data analysis and writing of scientific reports.
Proficient verbal & written English skills are crucial. Proficient Dutch language skills are not required.
Able to work with strict deadlines and deliver required project milestones in time.
Highly motivated, results-oriented, accurate and delivering work of good quality.
Takes initiative, shows ownership, prioritizes tasks and has a hands-on mentality.
Able to work in a (project) team and on individual basis.
Strong in troubleshooting and problem-solving processes, creative.
Excellent communication skills within the project team and towards other stakeholders (Product Management, QC, QA etc.).
