The role predominantly involves assisting the European Food & Beverage Business Partner, the CE Controller and the General Managers for our PALL plant sites in Bad Kreuznach, Crailsheim, Schwaikheim and Dreieich, in all aspects of Controlling and Reporting for the German Organisations (including export business if any). Further, to lead efficiently the local finance team to achieve the requirements in term of quality and on time delivery of financial information. In the role of FB business partner the role also includes the international (Germany+France) of the EU Food & Beverage plants, consolidation of operational data and respond on questions concerning the F&B Europe operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The role will cover the following tasks / activities:

  • Present/translate in simple manner the daily/weekly/monthly financial results (including monthly financial performance package) to Business Unit Leadership.

  • Analyse operational KPIs to support financial reporting and variances to standards (Spread template).

  • Manage stakeholders tasks and expectations (

  • Partner with Plant Manager to provide pertinent data to establish Operational and Financial goal alignment and drive towards results.

  • Lead process improvement teams and independently manages projects to achieve improvements in controls & reporting.

  • Attend project meetings as Finance Leader, ensuring operational or projects activities discussed are appropriately accounted for financially.

  • Provides forecasting and supporting analytical review as part of the spread template meetings with the Regional Business Partner, and Corporate Reporting.

  • Oversight, teamwork and coordination with shared service centers/ COEs to ensure compliance of the monthly account reconciliation process for the meaningful HFM entities

Selected Month-end and quarter-end activities:

  • Lead month-end processes and perform month-end controls/ review and approve balance sheet reconciliations

  • Coordinate, manage and review I/C allocations, like Tollinf Fee, charge over/ under-absorption, distribution costs, R&D costs

  • Support Pall International with inventory material review board actions

  • Headcount check

  • Review function costs + possible corrections (cost centre review)

  • Review P&L and BS

  • Perform and review controls according to Sarbanes Oxly Act

  • Manage finance aspects of local capital investment projects together with plant leadership

  • SGA Analysis

Yearly activities:

  • Participate in Annual Operating Budget process (Tolling Plant)

  • Participate and provide support to Local GAAP year-end activities

  • Participate and provide support to external and internal auditors

  • Inventory verification of consignment and on site stock

Qualification & Experiences:

  • Finance related degree

  • Working towards a recognised Accounting qualification e.g ACCA/ACA/CIMA

  • Experienced in working as a Plant Controller in a similar sized organisation for around 5-8 years

  • Detailed experience of SAP ERP, preferably in a manufacturing company

  • Fluent in German and in English
