This position is part of the Beckman MicroScan group and will be located in the Washington DC area. At Microbiology, our vision is to ensure that every patient has access to the right antibiotic at the right time.
You will be a part of the MicroScan Applications team and report to the MicroScan Applications Supervisor responsible for accurately anticipating the needs of your customers and execute on a strategy to help us become/stay the technical vendor of choice. You will use your experience in laboratory workflow to effectively position our solutions in the Microbiology space . Technical Applications Specialist Baltimore, MD Territory
The primary objective is “to do what it takes” to ensure customer satisfaction. The MicroScan Technical Application Specialist will resolve customer challenges independently within established policies and procedures. They are responsible for timely implementation of new Walkaway systems, customer training, adding panels where possible, troubleshooting as needed, performing Software upgrades, and presenting Educational sessions to assigned customer base. They are responsible for managing their customer base and strategizing with their sales counterpart to grow the base business and new panel business in their assigned area. Orchestrate implementation plans with customers for new instruments and new panels to bring them on-line quickly and efficiently. Schedule training rotations and schedules within the lab to insure cross training for all operators. Facilitate the proper customer support for all technical issues as they arise.
In this position, you will have the opportunity to:
Travel to customer accounts in your territory and prioritize support activities in all accounts to position Beckman Coulter solutions to meet customer needs.
Implement MicroScan analyzers, designing a plan to achieve and establish customer needs for best patient care.
Work with customers in the field to address all technical and supportive needs.
Develop and execute creative strategies to influence the customer for best possible workflow.
Working with sales partner to effectively link Beckman Coulter’s Microbiology solutions to the customers’ technical, financial and business needs.
Strategically leverage internal and external resources including Service, Sales, Field Product Specialists, Leadership and Client Services to build and execute agreed upon strategy to support all customers.
Follow through quickly and thoroughly on agreed upon actions with customer to advance the customer experience with Beckman MicroScan.
The essential requirements of the job include:
BA/BS preferably in Medical Technology; thorough technical knowledge of medical technology with 2+ years' experience OR Master Degree with 0-2+ years' experience.
2+ years of Clinical Microbiology laboratory experience
Computer literacy is mandatory (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Job requires a large amount of driving within the region; must have a clean driving record over last three years.
Must be willing to travel 75%, including overnight travel
