This position is for Life Science Digital team located at Danaher India Development Center (IDC), Bangalore
IDC is a research and development center with the vision of accelerating product roadmaps across various Danaher business segments. Started in 2014, the center now hosts 500+ associates for multiple Danaher operating companies focusing on Diagnostics, Life Science, and Environmental and Applied Science segments. The operating companies includes Beckman Coulter, Radiometer, Leica Biosystems, PID Digital, LS Digital, Hach, Leica Microsystems, IDBS, SCIEX, HemoCue, Videojet and Cepheid.
The IDC workforce comprises of various product engineering teams, working on development of software and hardware components of groundbreaking products for Immunoassay, Chemistry, Hematology, Molecular diagnostics, Oncology, Neurosurgery and Water Quality. IDC has evolved as center of excellence for Cloud and data analytics, with significant contributions to the key informatics solutions. The teams consist of hardworking software & hardware engineers and development managers. The teams are supported by local Product managers, Quality & Regulatory and Intellectual property specialists.
The inhouse teams works in close coordination with global R&D centers at US, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, Denmark and Sweden. Located at the center of Bangalore IT HUB, IDC is housed at state of art facility, measuring 120K sqft.

As a Data Engineer, you will join a team of Data and Analytics engineers including Data Scientists and cloud platform engineers to drive Life Sciences Digital team’s transformative Digital initiatives in IoT, Data and Analytics (Machine Learning/AI) applications targeted at Life Sciences Industry. You will bring a strong track record in design, implementation and management of large-scale data sets. You will work closely with our business stakeholders, Data SMEs, cloud infrastructure team and Data Scientists to ingest data and create data pipelines that will form the foundation for Data Scientists for advanced modeling or other business use case analysis. You will bring your proficiency in multiple SQL/NoSQL databases to build and manage large scale data systems. You will leverage open source technologies and cloud-based AWS tools to process massive amounts of data and make it available in an organized structure both for proof of concept and production systems.
As a member of the Data Engineering team, you will be called upon to guide other team members in technology and processes. You should be enthusiastic about learning new technologies and be able to craft solutions using them to provide new functionality to and value to our businesses. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills as you will work very closely with diverse teams. You will work with a globally distributed Agile team in a fast-paced environment.
Work with Data Scientists and domain specific data experts and other stakeholders including Architects, Product Managers/owners to identify and support data processing needs including data ingestion, data preparation, data clean-up and data readiness for development and production needs.
Provide technical leadership on designing, implementing high-performance data processing pipelines and frameworks. Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architectures.
Build key data sets to empower exploratory analysis and advanced analytics.
Write complex ETL processes and frameworks for analytics and data management
Serve as technical expert and mentor for core technologies in AWS stacks.
Establish DataOps best practices and processes
Evaluate new data technologies to build a scalable data platform.
Share in code and design reviews with agile team
Work with geographically distributed teams while maintaining highest standards in collaboration and communication.
3+ years of demonstrated experience in developing highly scalable, reliable, and real-time data processing pipelines
3+ years of experience in database schema design and SQL
2+ years of experience in creating reports and dashboards in Tableau/PowerBI or similar frameworks.
2+ years hands-on experience of working in scalable and distributed data environments in AWS(preferred) or Azure: Kafka, Kinesis, Hadoop/Cassandra, Redis, RedShift, Azure Blob, Event Hubs or BigQuery
2+ years of strong programming experience in Python
Experience in Apache Spark for data processing pipelines and ML Engineering is a strong plus.
Excellent understanding of best practices in data quality and quality engineering
Ability to work with structured, semi-structured and unstructured datasets uncovering information and identifying complex links across different data sets
Demonstrated experience in designing and developing reusable code frameworks, libraries, and components.
Must have experience in Agile development methods.
