This position is for Radiometer team located at Danaher India Development Center (IDC), Bangalore
IDC is a research and development center with the vision of accelerating product roadmaps across various Danaher business segments. Started in 2014, the center now hosts 500+ associates, for multiple Danaher operating companies focusing on Diagnostics, Life Science, and Environmental and Applied Science segments. The operating companies includes Beckman Coulter, Radiometer, Leica Biosystems, Danaher Digital, Hach, Leica Microsystems, HemoCue, Videojet and Cepheid.
The IDC workforce comprises of various product engineering teams, working on the development of software and hardware components of groundbreaking products for, Immunoassay, Chemistry, Hematology, Molecular Diagnostics, Oncology, Neurosurgery and Water Quality. IDC has evolved as center of excellence for Cloud and data analytics, with significant contributions to the key informatics solutions. The teams consist of highly hardworking software & hardware engineers and development managers. The teams are supported by local Product managers, Quality & Regulatory and Intellectual property specialists.
The inhouse teams works in close coordination with other global R&D centers at US, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, Denmark and Sweden. Located at the center of Bangalore IT HUB, IDC is housed at state of art facility, measuring 120 K
I. General Summary & Overall Challenges
We are looking for a dynamic Electrical Engineer to join our team! The ideal candidate will be an experienced Electrical Engineer who is seeking an exciting product development opportunity where the key responsibility will be to bring engineering development experience to our Hardware Engineering team.
The primary responsibility for this position is to support our ongoing development programs for both new and legacy products. The Electrical Engineer will be a critical team member working multi-functionally in supporting legacy instrumentation in cost reduction, product design changes and regulatory and environmental standard revisions, and customer-driven product improvements.
The position is located in Bangalore and is part of a team of highly skilled engineers in IDC working for IA team. We are responsible for the hardware design and development of the Immunoassay analyzers as a part of IA business in Radiometer.
This position reports to the Engineering Manager, Immunoassay Hardware team in India Development Center Bangalore.
II. Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities
Support and lead hardware sustaining, and research and development projects from an electrical perspective (analog / digital circuits and FPGA)
Ensures robust/reliable product design, verification and validation of initial and subsequent design changes making sure that all FDA/ISO/EN and other related requirements are consistently met.
Handle design execution of sophisticated projects using a strong systems approach including hardware, software, fluidics, reagents, and biologics, leading to the closure of all technical gaps throughout ideation and development life cycle
Create Design of Experiments (DOE) and test reports, including summarizing results, drawing conclusions from test results and proposing recommendations, and presenting to peers and management.
III. Requirements for this position (“What” the candidate can do)a) Formal Education
- Bachelors/Master’s degree (B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
b) “Must Have” Competencies / Skills / Experience
Should have 13+ years of relevant experience in Electrical & Electronic Engineering Product Design & Development domain.
Experience with IVD and/or Life Science instruments – desired.
Understanding of Product Development Process, Life Cycles Management, and Manufacturing.
Good understanding of IEC 60601 is desired.
Expertise in Analog, Digital, Control, and Microcontroller centered electronic design along with experience in power supplies.
Experience in electronic simulation, signal integration and timing analysis.
Proficient in analog design and frequency domain analysis.
Proficient in discrete digital design and programmable logic design.
Experience in FPGA/32 Bit Processors designs with knowledge of Verilog and VHDL languages is a plus.
Experience using Orcad design and PCB layout design.
Good experience in reference reviews and design.
Solid understanding of grounding and noise reduction techniques as well as EMI and RFI control.
Experience in programming and firmware coding is a plus.
Hands-on experience in Design for Manufacturing – Valor Tool experience is a plus.
Proven knowledge and application of manufacturing testing systems in-circuit and functional testing.
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and on cross-functional.
Ability to travel as needed.
Fluency in English both written and verbal
