This position is for SCIEX team located at Danaher India Development Center (IDC), Bangalore

IDC is a research and development center with the vision of accelerating product roadmaps across various Danaher business segments. Started in 2014, the center now hosts 500+ associates, for multiple Danaher operating companies focusing on Diagnostics, Life Science, and Environmental and Applied Science segments. The operating companies includes Beckman Coulter, Radiometer, Leica Biosystems, Danaher Digital, Hach, Leica Microsystems, HemoCue , Videojet and Cepheid.

The IDC workforce comprises of various product engineering teams, working on development of software and hardware components of cutting-edge products for, Immunoassay, Chemistry, Hematology, Molecular diagnostics, Oncology, Neurosurgery and Water Quality. IDC has evolved as center of excellence for Cloud and data analytics, with significant contributions to the key informatics solutions. The teams consist of highly hardworking software & hardware engineers and development managers. The teams are supported by local Product managers, Quality & Regulatory and Intellectual property specialists.

The inhouse teams works in close coordination with other global R&D centers at US, Canada, Europe, Japan, China, and Singapore. Located at the center of Bangalore IT HUB, IDC is housed at state of art facility, measuring 120 K .

Position Description:

The position of Scrum Master reports to the Software Cloud Manager with the primary responsibility as a member of a team of engineers to provide effective collaboration, leadership, coaching and facilitation .

The role of a Scrum Master is to guide and coach all stakeholders and participants involved with a scrum delivery ensuring the scrum ceremonies are executed correctly and that the team lives by the values and practices of scrum and agile within the Sciex Agile environment. The Scrum Master will serve their scrum team(s) by ensuring that impediments to progress are removed while proactively collaborating with product owners and other contributors to understand thoroughly the backlog items, sprint and release objectives and the activities / dependencies required to deliver the agreed upon sprint deliverables. Your team members will be located in Bangalore and will closely collaborate with the development teams in Toronto, Canada.

Responsibilities :

Specific responsibilities commensurate with experience and include:

  • Cultivate self-organizing, high performing teams through servant leadership and mentoring.

  • Encourage, support, and guide continuous improvement of the team, its products and processes.

  • Resolve conflict through arbitration, negotiation, reasoned discussion, or escalation.

  • Willing and able to identify problems, impediments, dependencies, and other team dysfunctions, and then facilitate quick resolution.

  • Promote a safe environment where problems can be raised without apprehension, and with an emphasis on problem solving.

  • Proactively ensures that the development process is enabled by scrum/agile practices

  • Assessing maturity of the scrum team; coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization

  • Work with one or two scrum teams.

  • Be able to work with remote teams

  • Maintain a close working relationship with Product Owners

  • Able to work with and represent a wide variety of stakeholders that need to work with the team.

  • Ensures correct and timely execution of all scrum ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Release Planning, Backlog Grooming, Daily Stand-Ups, Sprint Demos and Sprint Retrospectives

  • Guides Product Owner in developing, maintaining and grooming Product Backlog

  • Removes impediments/blockers in order to keep teams highly productive

  • Helps the team identify and manage dependencies with other internal or external teams

  • Provides metrics and status to senior management

  • Skilled at creating a fully transparent development process that the teams embrace and all stakeholders gain visibility on how the backlog is being depleted to meet customer goals

  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills

  • Experienced in developing close working relationships with all levels of management, especially the functional managers

    Key Requirement & Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related fiel d

  • 10 + years of experience as a Scrum Master on software development team(s) for commercial products delivery

  • 1 or more of the following: CSM (Certified Scrum Master), CSP (Certified Scrum Practitioner), SSM (Safe Scrum Master)

  • Experience working with teams remotely

  • Experience leading program level agile release planning events ( ie PI Planning)

  • Knowledge of SDLC processes and tools

  • Strong and demonstrable written/verbal communication and facilitation skills

  • Strong consultative, product focus mindset

  • Solid knowledge of Jira and Confluence
