This position is for the SCIEX team located at Danaher India Development Center (IDC), Bangalore
IDC is a research and development center with the vision of accelerating product roadmaps across various Danaher business segments. Started in 2014, the center now hosts 500+ associates, for multiple Danaher operating companies focusing on Diagnostics, Life Science, and Environmental and Applied Science segments. The operating companies include Beckman Coulter, Radiometer, Leica Biosystems, Danaher Digital, Hach, Leica Microsystems, HemoCue, Videojet, and Cepheid.
The IDC workforce comprises various product engineering teams, working on the development of software and hardware components of cutting-edge products for, Immunoassay, Chemistry, Hematology, Molecular Diagnostics, Oncology, Neurosurgery, and Water Quality. IDC has evolved as a center of excellence for Cloud and data analytics, with significant contributions to the key informatics solutions. The teams consist of highly hardworking software & hardware engineers and development managers. The teams are supported by local Product managers, Quality & Regulatory and Intellectual property specialists.
The in-house teams work in close coordination with other global R&D centers in the US, Canada, Europe, Japan, China, and Singapore. Located at the center of Bangalore IT HUB, IDC is housed at state of art facility, measuring 120 K.
The Software Automation Engineer Lead will report to the Automation Software Manager and will bring his/her expertise to improving our automation systems through hand-on development of our automation framework, development of test automation suite, and provide leadership and guidance to the UI automation test team.
You will leverage your experience and technical background to plan and conduct all levels of verification against our software products within an agile team development team. You will utilize the necessary tools and agile processes to assist developers, ensure that the product conforms to the highest standards of customer expectations, and assist with the evaluation and management of tools, frameworks, and verification environments.
You will mentor and guide team members to become efficient in what they do with on-time product delivery. You will work with a globally distributed Agile team in a fast-paced environment. The team member will be located in Bangalore and will closely collaborate with the teams in Toronto, Canada.
Specific responsibilities commensurate with experience and include:
Serve as a mentor and technical lead for the UI automation verification team
Verifying that our software products fully comply with given requirements defined by the regulatory, business, and customer expectations
Continued development, improvement, and growth of the automation framework
Verification and/or Validation of product robustness through a structured testing process and by exploratory methods
Creation, maintenance, and execution of automated product test suites
Metrics management of verification progress, project issues, risks, and requirements
Document and communicate issues found during testing to facilitate corrective action by developers and/or designers
Understand subsystem level requirements and participate in development/design discussions making recommendations to improve automation test activities.
Excellent communication skills, ability to quickly make and influence technical decisions as part of the product development, and drive open issues to a successful closure
Develop & Maintenance of Automation Test Cases / Frameworks for Windows desktop applications
Drive continuous integration by development and automated execution of verification protocols.
Provide estimates of detailed level project-related verification activities.
Understand and manage integration points with other systems that interface with your applications
Attend morning/night meetings with the global team in multiple locations.
Key Requirement & Qualifications:
B.Sc. in Computer Science or BE. in Software Engineering or 8+ years of related experience
5+ years’ experience in programming in C# and Visual Studio
Hands-on experience leading desktop applications, automation software tools, concepts, and applications.
5+ years hands-on experience with and/or familiarity with a variety of software testing tools such as TestComplete, Ranorex, Load Test, Coded UI, Framework for Integrated Test, or "Fit" etc.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are an absolute necessity
Experience working with remote teams is desired
Experience with FDD product development practices
Experience with creating test plans and test cases, as well as automation of test cases
Experience with automation framework design and development
Excellent problem-solving skills using a logical methodology
Understanding of verification requirements for regulated environments preferred
Ability to design relevant test cases based on realistic customer workflows
Experience with AWS Development Operations tools and concepts: Jenkins, CI/CD pipeline, BitBucket
Experience with Agile Scrum/Kanban processes, and work management tools: JIRA, Confluence
Knowledge of data analytics and processing and/or familiar with biochemistry and mass spectrometer data analysis is desired
