Danaher Corporation QA Engineer II (Automation) in Bangalore, India

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

Professional Experience and Skills:

2+ years of work experience in designing, developing, maintaining, and executing automated testing solutions for multiple platforms

  • Good understanding and experience in testing products and applications across a range of technologies including web (MS.Net or J2EE), batch processing, web services and reporting

  • Experience in designing automation test strategy / methodology and developing automated test scripts for functional, regression, security, and performance testing of web applications

  • Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining test suites through formal methods of test design to ensure optimal test coverage

  • Experience working with Hybrid, keyword, and data-driven test automation frameworks

  • Experience working with and developing automated test scripts using test automation frameworks and tools like Selenium, Junit4, Sahi

  • Applied expertise developing automated scripts using programming and scripting languages such as Java, Python and JavaScript

  • Experience in performance testing using tools like JMeter, Locust

  • Experience developing automated web service tests (for SOAP and REST) using SOAP UI or similar web services testing tools

  • Good experience in writing SQL queries

  • Good experience in using tools for test and bug lifecycle management

  • Experience in build and continuous Integration tools like Jenkins, Ant, Maven and Gradle

  • Working knowledge in version control tools, such as SVN, Git

  • Good understanding of testing metrics and experience using metrics to target process and efficiency improvements

  • Experience is executing automated performance tests, analysis of performance test results and performance logs to troubleshoot and identify performance bottlenecks and issues

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, including ability to understand advanced technical documentation

Responsibilities and Key Activities:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of product functionality to evaluate and ensure product quality

  • Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases and test plans and maintain them

  • Apply test methodology and product knowledge in the design of tests and testing strategies

  • Develop and maintain smoke, performance, functional, and regression tests to ensure code is functioning as designed

  • Develop, monitor, execute, evaluate, and maintain automated test scripts for J2EE based web applications using industry standard automated testing tools.

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining product, data, tools, databases, and test environments

  • Maintaining and improving Continuous Integration and Delivery environments

  • Work with the development team to understand how changes in the software product affect maintenance of automated test scripts and the QA automated testing environments

  • Work with the developers and product owners to comprehend product functionality and identify system requirements

  • Convert manual test plans to automated test scripts

  • Create and upgrade automation test plans for each release

  • Communicate and interact effectively with customers, product management, documentation, training, deployment, support, and other departments within Esko

  • Stay current on software technology, concepts, new testing tools, test strategies, as well as related and competing products

  • Help with creating, implementing, executing, and guarding optimized processes, policies, and procedures
