This position is for SCIEX team located at Danaher India Development Center (IDC), Bangalore

IDC is a research and development center with the vision of accelerating product roadmaps across various Danaher business segments. Started in 2014, the center now hosts 500+ associates, for multiple Danaher operating companies focusing on Diagnostics, Life Science, and Environmental and Applied Science segments. The operating companies includes Beckman Coulter, Radiometer, Leica Biosystems, Danaher Digital, Hach, Leica Microsystems, HemoCue, Videojet and Cepheid.

The IDC workforce comprises of various product engineering teams, working on development of software and hardware components of cutting-edge products for, Immunoassay, Chemistry, Hematology, Molecular diagnostics, Oncology, Neurosurgery and Water Quality. IDC has evolved as center of excellence for Cloud and data analytics, with significant contributions to the key informatics solutions. The teams consist of highly hardworking software & hardware engineers and development managers. The teams are supported by local Product managers, Quality & Regulatory and Intellectual property specialists.

The inhouse teams works in close coordination with other global R&D centers at US, Canada, Europe, Japan, China, and Singapore. Located at the center of Bangalore IT HUB, IDC is housed at state of art facility, measuring 120 K.

Position Description :

The Senior Software Automation Engineer will report to the Cloud Software Manager and will bring his/her expertise to improving our automation systems through hand-on development of our automation framework and test automation suite.

You will leverage your past experience and technical background to plan and conduct all levels of verification against our software products within an agile team development team. You will utilize the necessary tools and agile processes to assist developers, ensure that the product confirms to highest standards of customer expectations, and assist with the evaluation and management of tools, frameworks and verification environments.

The team member will be located in Bangalore and will closely collaborate with the teams in Toronto, Canada.

Responsibilities :

Specific responsibilities commensurate with experience and include:

  • Verifying that our software products fully complies with given requirements that defined by the regulatory, business and customer expectations

  • Verification and/or Validation of product robustness through a structured testing process and by exploratory methods

  • Continued development, improvement, and growth of the automation framework

  • Creation, maintenance, and execution of automated product test suites

  • Metrics management of verification progress, project issues, risks, and requirements

  • Clearly document and communicate issues found during testing to facilitate corrective action by developers and/or designers

  • Understand subsystem level requirements and participate in development/design discussions making recommendations to improve verification activities.

  • Excellent communication skills, ability to quickly make and influence technical decisions as part of the product development, and drive open issues to a successful closure

  • Drive continuous integration by development and automated execution of verification & validation tests.

  • Provide estimates of detailed level project related verification activities.

  • Understand and manage integration points with other systems that interface with your applications

    Key Requirement & Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. in Computer Science or B.Eng. in Software Engineering and/or 4+ years of related experience

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are an absolute necessity

  • Hands-on expereince in automation software tools, concepts, and application including: Selenium, RestSharp, Python, Newman, API testing, Postman, Unit testing

  • Strong experience with Cucumber and/or SpecFlow

  • Experience working with remote teams is desired

  • Experience with BDD test framework design and development

  • Experience with FDD product development practices

  • Experience with creating test plans and test cases, as well as automation of test cases

  • Familiar with automation framework design and development

  • A strong interest and quick learner in new software technologies relating to SaaS

  • Excellent problem solving skills using a logical methodology

  • Ability to perform exploratory and/or statistical analysis to derive insight from data

  • Understanding of verification requirements for regulated environments preferred

  • Ability to design relevant test cases based on realistic customer workflows

  • Experience with AWS Development Operations tools and concepts: Jenkins, CI/CD pipeline, BitBucket

  • Knowledge with technology stacks: C#, .Net Core, Node.js, Python, React, CSS, HTML, JavaScript

  • Experience with Agile Scrum/Kanban processes, and work management tools: JIRA, Confluence

  • Knowledge of data analytics and processing and/or familiar with biochemistry and mass spectrometer data analysis is desired
