Beckman Coulter is seeking a Senior Software Automation Engineer, CDS Solutions, based at Danaher’s India Development Center (IDC), at state-of-the-art facility in Bangalore or remote from other locations in India. IDC is a research and development center with the vision of accelerating product roadmaps across various Danaher business segments. Started in 2014, the center now hosts 650+ associates, for multiple Danaher operating companies focusing on Diagnostics, Life Science, and Environmental and Applied Science segments. The operating companies includes Beckman Coulter, Radiometer, Leica Biosystems, Danaher Digital, Hach, Leica Microsystems, HemoCue, Videojet, SCIEX, IDBS and Cepheid. The IDC workforce is comprised of various product engineering teams, working on development of software and hardware components of cutting-edge products for Clinical Decision Support, Immunoassay, Chemistry, Hematology, Molecular diagnostics, Oncology, Neurosurgery and Water Quality. IDC has evolved as center of excellence for Cloud and data analytics, with significant contributions to the key informatics solutions. The teams consist of highly hardworking software & hardware engineers and development managers. The teams are supported by local Product managers, Quality & Regulatory and Intellectual property specialists.
Role Description
As the Senior Software Automation Engineer, CDS Solutions, you will be responsible for ensuring overall quality of our products, services, and applications through the design of best-in-class test automation strategies. In this role, reporting to the Software Engineering Manager, CDS Solutions, you will work closely with the software development teams to establish an automation framework, development a test automation suite, integrate test execution as part of the CI/CD pipelines. You will leverage your past experience and technical background to plan and conduct all levels of verification against our software products within an agile team development team. You will utilize the necessary tools and agile processes to assist developers, ensure that the product confirms to highest standards of customer expectations, and assist with the evaluation and management of tools, frameworks and verification environments.
Job Responsibilities
Design and develop test automation frameworks and work with DevOps team to integrate test execution into CI/CD pipelines
Understand subsystem level requirements and participate in development/design discussions making recommendations to improve verification activities
Create and maintain test strategy, test plans, cases, scenarios/scripts, in compliance with defined standards and methodologies to deliver verification testing that complies with FDA regulations
As part of an agile team, attend scrum meetings, backlog refinements, sprint planning, and retrospectives
Clearly document and communicate issues found during testing to facilitate corrective action by developers and/or designers
Triage production support issues and work with operations, product management, and software engineering to resolve issues, while also exploring ways to prevent further escaped defects
Continuously look for opportunities to improve the test automation framework, recommending new tools and technologies
Qualifications and Essential Skills
4 or more years of relevant experience working in test automation
Experience with a wide range of test strategies such as UI testing, Automated testing, Black box testing, White box testing, regression testing, performance testing and user acceptance testing.
Hands-on experience in automating web-based application testing using frameworks like Selenium WebDriver / other similar frameworks
Good knowledge of test framework design and tools such as Cucumber or Apium
Hands on experience in developing REST API automation frameworks from scratch using C# (Java/Python) and using tools like SOAP UI, Postman.
Experience in Behavior-Driven Development and Gherkin specifications
Proficient in using source control systems like Git, Bitbucket, Jira
Good knowledge of Continuous Integration/ Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools and build management tools such as Azure DevOps
Proven ability to write automated tests
Detailed understanding of common defect and data-management tools
Knowledge of software lifecycles, Agile/scrum methodologies, and test automation strategies
Experience working effectively with teams and stakeholders to develop relationships and achieve common goals
Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed
Beneficial Skills
Experience in regulated medical device software that strictly adheres to design controls and quality management system requirements
Experience in Healthcare industry standards such as HL7, FHIR
