This position is for Radiometer team located at Danaher India Development Center (IDC), Bangalore
IDC is a research and development center with the vision of accelerating product roadmaps across various Danaher business segments. Started in 2014, the center now hosts 500+ associates, for multiple Danaher operating companies focusing on Diagnostics, Life Science, and Environmental and Applied Science segments. The operating companies includes Beckman Coulter, Radiometer, Leica Biosystems, Danaher Digital, Hach, Leica Microsystems, HemoCue, Videojet and Cepheid.
The IDC workforce comprises of various product engineering teams, working on development of software and hardware components of cutting-edge products for, Immunoassay, Chemistry, Hematology, Molecular diagnostics, Oncology, Neurosurgery and Water Quality. IDC has evolved as center of excellence for Cloud and data analytics, with significant contributions to the key informatics solutions. The teams consist of highly hardworking software & hardware engineers and development managers. The teams are supported by local Product managers, Quality & Regulatory and Intellectual property specialists.
The inhouse teams works in close coordination with other global R&D centers at US, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, Denmark and Sweden. Located at the center of Bangalore IT HUB, IDC is housed at state of art facility, measuring 120 K
I. General Summary & Overall Challenges
This SW Engineer position has a significant role in ensuring that the software delivered from the Immunoassay (IA) SW team meets the defined design specification and the quality needs. The team is currently developing software for the IA analyzers in Radiometer’s product portfolio. Team proficiencies are primarily desktop standalone application development and testing, both front end and embedded. Our software is developed in close collaboration with the other half of the SW team located in Copenhagen, Denmark.
In this role, you will be involved understanding requirements, writing code, updating design documents, writing unit test cases. You will also work with multi-functional project teams to develop new and sustain the existing products. To achieve the objective of this position you will have to collaborate and connect with all the partners within R&D and beyond.
The position is located in Bangalore and is part of a team of 20 highly-skilled engineers in IDC working for IA team. We are responsible for the software design and development for the IA analyzers as a part of Immunoassay business in Radiometer.
This position reports to the Manager, Software Engineering IA SW team in India Development Center Bangalore.
II. Key ResponsibilitiesPosition: Senior Software Engineer
Developing new features for medical device software and support the maintenance of the products in the market.
Create Design documents for implemented software features in compliance with medical device standards.
Actively participate in Sprint planning and other sprint ceremonies as per the SCRUM Agile process.
Maintain code quality as per IEC 62304 standards.
Participate in requirements, system architecture, design, code and test case reviews.
Work with V&V team mates to fully test the features and deliver it timely
Build and execute automated unit and/or other test cases using simulator or on analyzer directly.
Shall be able to multitask and ready to work on multiple projects
Must be proactive, results-oriented, self-motivated and willing to work with a multi-functional team.
III. Requirements for this position (“What” the candidate can do)a) Formal Education
- Bachelors/Master’s degree (B.E/B.Tech/MCA/M.Tech) in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering or equivalent.
b) “Must Have” Competencies / Skills / Experience
4-8 years of proven experience in software programming
Proficient in C# or C++ (windows) programming language and passion to work on various Technologies (VB, WPF, etc.)
Experience with SQL DBMS like MySQL, Sybase or SQL Server
Experience in debugging enterprise application and coming up with good solutions
Experience in designing software components using design patterns and principles.
Possess good analytical skills, with excellent problem-solving abilities.
Hands-on in Tools like Visual Studio, GIT, TFS, etc.
Familiar with Unit test framework and knowledge of writing Unit test for software modules.
Experience of working in Agile development methodologies with a good understanding of SDLC
Fluency in English both written and verbal
d) Travel (required estimated % of time)
Travel 10% (Based on the business needs during the Non COVID times)
