This position is for Radiometer team co-located with Beckman Coulter team at Danaher India Development Center (IDC), Bangalore.
IDC is a research and development center with the vision of accelerating product roadmaps across various Danaher business segments. Started in 2014, the center now hosts 500+ associates, for multiple Danaher operating companies focusing on Diagnostics, Life Science, and Environmental and Applied Science segments. The operating companies includes Beckman Coulter, Radiometer, Leica Biosystems, Danaher Digital, Hach, Leica Microsystems, HemoCue, Videojet and Cepheid.
The IDC workforce comprises of various product engineering teams, working on development of software and hardware components of cutting-edge products for, Immunoassay, Chemistry, Hematology, Molecular diagnostics, Oncology, Neurosurgery and Water Quality. IDC has evolved as center of excellence for Cloud and data analytics, with significant contributions to the key informatics solutions. The teams consist of highly hardworking software & hardware engineers and development managers. The teams are supported by local Product managers, Quality & Regulatory and Intellectual property specialists.
The inhouse teams works in close coordination with other global R&D centers at US, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, Denmark and Sweden. Located at the center of Bangalore IT HUB, IDC is housed at state of art facility, measuring 120K.
The Staff Engineer is a hands on role and will report in to the Engineering Manager of the IA team located at Bangalore.
II. Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities
Design and Develop software using technologies such as C++, C#, VB6 and .NET (this could include UI, business logic and/or motion control components depending on interest and experience)
Own and write documentation required for medical device regulatory clearance.
Collaborate with different partners both internally and externally to align designs and plans
Understand the requirements and negotiate the design options with partners
Support the product roadmap, release schedules and maintain the architectural standards that ensure alignment with business objectives.
Participate in the design and development activities with the team.
Investigate to root cause on sophisticated issues and bugs; develop countermeasures and fixes
Provide recommendations to the organization for strategic planning and technology.
Ensure code quality with meticulous code inspections
Challenge the status quo whilst supporting a world-class product development life cycle.
Mentor and be mentored by your team members in development techniques and technologies.
Establish relationships with peers across the business and use the relationships to drive innovation.
Gain experience with a broad range of software technologies and the ability to make technical choices objectively.
Design and build unit tests and integration tests
Keep an eye out for technology trends, open-source projects that can be used.
III. Requirements for this position (“What” the candidate can do)a) Formal Education
- Bachelors/Master’s degree (B.E/B.Tech/MCA/M.Tech/PhD) in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering or equivalent.
b) “Must Have” Competencies / Skills / Experience
Should have 12+ years of relevant experience in the software development domain
Hands-on in architecting medium-to-large scale multilayered applications using an object-oriented language and data management system.
Excellent technical command of at least one of the software languages like C# .Net, C++ etc.
Understanding of the database like Sybase16, MS SQL etc
Experience in working on the design control requirements as per ISO 13485 and software life cycle processes as per IEC 62304
Understanding of the formal risk management processes as per ISO 14971 and the cybersecurity standards
Familiarity with working with all pieces of a DevOps toolchain (coding, source management, building, testing, packaging, releasing, and monitoring)
Experience of working in Agile/Scrum development methodologies with an understanding of several aspects of SW development processes.
Possess good analytical skills, with excellent problem-solving abilities.
Understanding of the Tool stacks like Jenkins, git, visual studio, Confluence, Jira
Fluency in English both written and verbal
d) Travel (required estimated % of time)
Travel 10% (Based on the business needs during the Non COVID times)
Proven experience in mentoring the teams through influence and followership skills.
