Imaging Engineering roles that design and develop medical diagnostic and clinical instrumentation, equipment, and procedures, using the principles of engineering and bio-behavioral sciences should be assigned to this job family. Roles with responsibility for cloud architecture should be assigned to this job family. Jobs that provide engineering technical support in this field should be assigned to this job family.

This position is for SCIEX team located at Danaher India Development Centre (IDC), Bangalore IDC is a research and development centre with the vision of accelerating product roadmaps across various Danaher business segments. Started in 2014, the centre now hosts 500+ associates, for multiple Danaher operating companies focusing on Diagnostics, Life Science, and Environmental and Applied Science segments. The operating companies includes Beckman Coulter, Radiometer, Leica Biosystems, Leica Microsystems, HemoCue, Videojet, SCIEX and Cepheid.

The IDC workforce comprises of various product engineering teams, working on development of software and hardware components of cutting-edge products for, Immunoassay, Chemistry, Hematology, Molecular diagnostics, Oncology, Neurosurgery and Water Quality. IDC has evolved as center of excellence for Cloud and data analytics, with significant contributions to the key informatics solutions. The teams consist of highly hardworking software & hardware engineers and development managers. The teams are supported by local Product managers, Quality & Regulatory and Intellectual property specialists.

The inhouse teams works in close coordination with other global R&D centers at US, Canada, Europe, Japan, China, and Singapore. Located at the centre of Bangalore IT HUB, IDC is housed at state of art facility, measuring 120 K.

Position Description:

The position of Technical Product owner reports to the Senior Engineering Manager and will leverage their past experience to plan and conduct all levels of product ownership against our software products within an agile team of designers , developers and testers.

The ideal candidate represents an opportunity for an experienced Software Product Owner. We are seeking a Technical Product Owner to join Software group to support development of core software platform. They are tasked with monitor the progress of product development, analyzing customer opinions and feedback, and ensure implemented product features add value to end users. You will be called upon to work collaboratively with our business partners, Architects, Global Product Managers/Owners, to set goals for your team and guide them with hands-on technical expertise. You will be involved in deep in technical design discussions and implementations. You will bring your proficiency in application development, software development leadership and detailed SW planning/execution acumen. You will have the opportunity to mentor team member to become highly efficient in what they do with on-time product delivery. You will work with a globally distributed Agile team in a fast- paced environment. Your team members will be located in Bangalore and will closely collaborate with the development teams in Toronto, Canada

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Specific responsibilities commensurate with experience and include:

  • Develop and maintain the product backlog, ensuring it is well-organized, prioritized, and up to date. Write clear and detailed user stories with acceptance criteria to guide the Scrum team.

  • Gather requirements from stakeholders, participate in backlog refinement (grooming) session, Sprint planning and sprint review meetings and team demos and track the progress. Provide clarification and additional details to ensure that the backlog items are ready for development.

  • Work closely with the Product Manager to align the product backlog with the overall product strategy and goals. Communicate the product vision and roadmap to the development team to ensure alignment and understanding.

  • Gather and incorporate feedback from users and customers into the product backlog for continuous improvement. Advocate for the end-users by ensuring that the product delivers value and meets user needs.

  • Represent the target customer to the team, and answer questions regarding customer goals. In collaboration with Product Manager and author User Needs Document

  • Conduct/Support Internal customer evaluation to gain customer insight and test value of features and/or product.

  • Support feature acceptance through formative evaluation of features on the runway. Collect and analyse customer VOC relevant to product under development. Define the validation strategy and contribute to and approve the validation plan.

    The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

  • 12+ years of experience in understanding of the software development best practices and scrum principles

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills: ability to dissect problems and projects into manageable tasks. Learnability of customer workflows and technologies that support the products

  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to direct and motivate the product development team of an organization.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex technical topics to development teams.

  • Ability to resolve the grey space/ambiguity. Basic knowledge of work management tools (JIRA) for the purpose of creating user stories and managing team backlog.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Proven ability to make decisions, positively influence others, and work well in a fast-moving environment.

  • Interpersonal Skill: Team player who has a proven track record of working effectively in a cross-functional, matrix environment and with user groups.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact well with people at all levels within an organization.

  • Ability to learn new software and Experience in Agile and Scrum principles and ISTQB foundation certification or equivalent.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills, Comfortable with ambiguity
