Danaher Corporation Product Planning Manager in Beijing, China

I. Purpose of Position

  • The purpose of the Product Planning Manager is to identify, define, and quantify new business opportunities in order to drive product innovations and technical breakthroughs to our core markets and relevant adjacencies. This business focused position develops and/or redefines current businesses, products, and business models for Hach Company.

II. Key Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Drives innovative business opportunities through the DDS (Danaher Development System) process pre-TG0 to TG3, using rigorous Voice of the Customer, Customer Insights and business analysis tools.

  • Manages New Product Development (NPD) Projects to assure maximum return in investment taking into account risks, market size, investment, and margin.

  • Identifies customer-centric needs and desired outcomes through extensive customer research and provides this input to the R&D organization to identify compatible technologies

  • Leads the successful handoff to the Product Management team at TG3 and owns the Design Output Requirements through TG5.

  • Assists in the development of the business unit Policy Deployment and KPIs.

  • Works with Product Managers in creating, executing, and analyzing VOC plans; links prioritized customer needs in price/performance on product lines with focus on future product requirements including enhancements and break through.

  • Leads business partnership relationships with external providers of product innovations; secures contracts and licensing agreements for innovative products and technologies with 3rd Party/Open Innovation partners to assure high-margin business models

  • Works Global R&D to define new product innovations and technology success criteria for use in the Global research and technology identification activities

  • Analyzes business potential of new technologies identified by Global R&D and is responsible for bringing them into the business unit.

Other Non-Essential Functions

  • Supports the Ideation Process within the business unit.

  • Works as an active participant in the development of the annual strategic plan

  • Performs other duties as assigned
