POSITION PURPOSE:

The Finance Director – Operations and Service is responsible for forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis, and strategic partnership with the global operations and service teams. The position is further responsible for providing financial leadership, guidance and assistance to various plant leaders and plant controllers. This includes conducting financial and business analysis to identify potential problems and recommend solutions, preparing/supporting the development of annual strategic plans and financial budgets for operations, as well as driving working capital and productivity improvements.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

People & Talent Management:

  • Develop and mentor direct reports and team members to reach their next career goals and to increase understanding of customer expectations and operating environments

  • Continue to build and develop a highly-engaged, high-performing, growth-oriented organization

  • Ensure the team is doing the right things (focusing on the critical few) and doing things right (applying applicable processes from our DBS – Danaher Business Systems - toolkit to reduce friction)

  • Communicate and implement business vision and strategies to the team by linking business strategy to specific functional responsibilities through daily production meetings, organizational town halls and regular staff communications.

  • Motivate associates to perform at their highest levels

Business Partner:

  • Partner with Operations & other Business Unit Vice Presidents and their respective teams to drive productivity initiatives

  • Develop and maintains forecasting processes that accurately predict future performance and motivates actions to ensure it hits agreed upon target

  • Drives operational business improvement initiatives on gross margin

  • Reviews and validates the production, accuracy and timeliness of monthly and quarterly reporting

  • Drives the use of Danaher Business Systems/Lean Management Tools and continuous improvement within the Finance organization and the business

  • Challenges existing processes, systems, reports, data analysis and outputs and implements necessary changes to create a best in class control environment

  • Partners with broader organization to drive standardizations and continuous improvements

Month/Quarter end close:

  • Ensures accurate and timely month-end and quarter-end close and reporting from the regions / OpCos in compliance with US GAAP and Danaher Finance policies

  • Coordinates quarter-end disclosure and related parties reporting

  • Reviews and validates the production, accuracy and timeliness of monthly and quarterly stats and supplemental reporting

  • Enforces compliance with Danaher and OpCo policies

  • Coordinates deployment of new accounting policies and ad-hoc Corporate and Platform accounting requirements

Compliance:

  • Coordinates program activities for Internal Audits, Balance Sheet Reviews, Sarbanes Oxley internal control testing, Anti-corruption program for the group

  • Closely involved with the preparation for internal audits, reviews and approves management response, ensures timeliness and sustainability of remediation.

  • Enforces the application of Danaher policies. Develops, deploys and enforces group policies and delegation of authority

Relationships:

  • Reports to the Hach CFO

  • Close Business Partner to the President of Sea-Bird Scientific

  • Partners with Regional and Operating Company leadership and with Regional Finance and Accounting teams.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of increasing responsibility in various accounting and finance roles

  • Experience in global, matrix organization a plus

  • Experience in people management – in managing, developing and coaching a finance team

  • Experience in implementation of financial accounting systems is a plus

  • Experience with Oracle, HFM, LucaNet, or similar software a plus

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting

  • CPA/MBA or equivalent preferred

The salary range for this role is $116k - 160k. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. This range may be modified in the future.
