Danaher Corporation Shipping Coordinator II in Bellevue, Washington

Purpose of Position:

Use a variety of hand and power tools, work instructions and software programs to prepare and receive shipments. This position relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Essential Functions (specific duties may vary by location):

  • All responsibilities as outlined in position of Shipping Coordinator I as follows:

  • Prepare outgoing shipments according to standard processes (which may include completing paperwork and creating labels) and coordinate with a variety of shipping companies

  • Perform appropriate quality check on parts being packed and order completeness

  • Locate, reference, update and/or change status of orders within a software system

  • Receive incoming shipments from existing customers and/or vendors, label equipment with identifying information, and deliver equipment and paperwork to correct locations

  • Understand and meet quality and delivery requirements

  • Comply with all regulatory requirements, including export compliance and EHS standards

  • Recognize and report problems with quality, processes, equipment or materials to Shipping

Supervisor or Supply Chain Manager

  • Operate a company vehicle to perform material deliveries or pick-ups with suppliers and customers

  • May be a backup for other materials-related functions

  • Provide hands-on job function training to coworkers as needed

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing best practices

  • Participate in Kaizen events and drive continuous improvement

  • Work off-shift, as needed, to support department and meet deadlines

  • Assure full compliance for import/export

  • Complete hazardous materials paperwork

Other Non-Essential Functions:

  • Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to: parts inspection, re-order of supplies, log keeping, oversight of company vehicles, assembly of custom crates and workbenches, assorted facilities maintenance tasks, participating in organizational meetings, and/or participating in walk-arounds.

Education, Background and Qualification Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 2+ years of Shipping Experience

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a good motor vehicle driving record

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to learn new computer software programs

  • Excellent attention to detail, and ability to perform procedures consistently

  • Carpentry skills, ability to operate a pallet jack, and high mechanical aptitude preferred

  • Ability to organize and manage time efficiently and effectively

  • Knowledge of import and export compliance preferred

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read forms, and follow internal procedures in English

  • Ability to effectively present information to Leads, Supervisors and Managers in English

  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or issues

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to collect data, and establish facts in support of projects or troubleshooting efforts

  • Ability to recognize and solve typical problems without supervisory approval; selecting solutions from established options

The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, talk and hear.

The employee must occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to 100 pounds with assistance, and/or

frequently lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds floor to shoulder.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Employees will be required to wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which may include: eye, hearing and respiratory protection, protective smock, steel toe shoes, gloves, or face shields. Contact lenses may not be allowed in some areas.
