Danaher Corporation Controller (f/m/d) in Berlin, Germany
The Controller (f/m/d) is responsible for directing all Hach Finance activities, excluding Manufacturing related ones, in Germany. The position is responsible for providing financial leadership, guidance and assistance to sales and service team plus functional leaders in Germany. This includes conducting financial and business analyses to identify potential problems and recommended solutions, preparing/supporting the development of annual strategic plans, financial budgets and monthly forecast.
Role and Responsibilities
Responsible for total Revenue of circa €100 million Analysis of monthly results versus forecast, explaining one-off costs and propose countermeasures
Develop appropriate and effective policies, procedures and controls pertaining to financial management, accounting processes and procedures (GAAP), cash management, financial and strategic planning, tax compliance and corporate reporting functions.
Prepare monthly financial reports for functional managers as well as for the Finance Director EU Mid & North
Development of the monthly forecasting process and the annual financial budget
Support business improvement initiatives
Directs activities associated with the establishment of financial controls and reporting environment for the country supporting the business growth objectives
Day to day collaboration with regional sales and service teams
Coordination with the accounting team to support submission of accurate and timely financial statements that are compliant with US GAAP and DHR accounting practices
Eliminate breaches of internal controls and ensure compliance with Danaher Corporate control and compliance standards including
SOX of DBS/ Lean Management Tools and continuous improvement within the Finance organization and the business
Ensure that all Danaher adhoc request and deadlines are followed
Proper management of the finite financial resources will enable the company to achieve targeted profit goals. Timely and accurate financial information will contribute to continued growth and profitability of the business.
The Controller (f/m/d) will report to the Finance Director EU Mid & North and interact with regional Sales and Service Team, Country Manager, Functional leaders and Finance team.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage financial activities
Install and improve processes to accurately forecast financial results and motivate actions to make sure delivery of agreed upon targets
Successfully implement robust financial control, compliance and reporting processes
Conduct detailed business and financial analyses to identify potential problems, determine root causes, and recommend appropriate solutions
Successfully support functional and operating unit leaders to understand and improve financial results on a sustainable basis
Profile and Qualifications:
BS or BA Degree in Finance or Accounting. MBA Degree and/or CPA are preferred
Experience of driving operational business performance and growth in a lean environment Experience of FP&A Strong IT systems experience, which must include:
Advance Excel user
Prior use of several ERP systems
Experience of US GAAP, local GAAP and SOX compliance
Pick up processes rapidly, a hands-on fast learne
Confident, innovative and self-motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Driven and motivated to develop within the role to take on new responsibilities and challenges
Accepts and relishes a stretch culture environment with a positive can-do attitude.
Fluent in German and English language proficiency.
