Continuous Improvement (DBS) Leader – Operations Berlin

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of this position is to drive continuous improvement in operations by leveraging Danaher Business Systems (DBS) and working with DBS-Leaders (DBSL) at the EU operation sites to identify improvement opportunities and implement countermeasure to drive reduction in waste, cost and improve on time delivery. Provide coaching, guidance, support and consolidate DBS activities across all Hach EU operation sites. Focus on best practice sharing, DBS knowledge management across sites and engage associates to drive lean manufacturing processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Be driver of strategic improvement to support Policy Deployment and KPI goals for long term success

  • Focus on systemic approach and sustainability of achievements

  • Work with site DBSLs consolidated Kaizen and Problem Solving funnel across all operations, with focus on consolidating effort, best practice sharing and achieve 90%+ sustainment

  • Work with site DBSLs a consolidated funnel of Certified Practitioners (CPs) to ensure we have the necessary number of CPs in the critical tools for operations for Berlin site

  • Audit existing processes and systems to assess/determine actions required for improvements.

  • Analyze data and processes to evaluate improvement opportunities and provide input the identification and selection of improvement projects.

  • Participates in daily management, KPI and Policy Deployment reviews to provide support and consolidate DBS activities.

  • Communicate and drive “Best Practices” and facilitate Danaher leadership benchmarking sessions.

  • Support New Product Introduction and open innovation activities

  • Work with the DBSO (Danaher Business System Office) to schedule events, align on new Lean tools and advance DBS in operations.

    QUALIFICATIONS :

  • degree in a technical discipline preferred (Physical Sciences or Engineering).

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in various lean manufacturing processes with exposure to Toyota Production Systems.

  • In depth knowledge of quality principles and technical tools (problem analysis, statistical tools, design of experiments, variation reduction, design for six sigma, control charts) with proven outcomes.

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and solve problems.

  • Mechanical aptitude – ability to work in operations cells and partner with production engineers to create tools, jigs and fixtures to eliminate variation.

  • Experience and working knowledge/application of LEAN tools and concepts preferred.

  • Great computer skills (data analysis, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, statistical tools).

  • German and English fluency required

  • Travel requirement is approximately 25%
