Job Summary:

The Senior Manager Global Procurement manages the company’s relationship with external suppliers and take ownership for all direct and indirect material negotiations, to get the best possible pricing, terms, and service for all Aldevron locations. This role acts as Aldevron's Procurement Lead within the Danaher organization and will drive the development and advancement of the procurement team so that the company can continue to invest in growth and people.


  • Lead and develop the procurement organization across all sites.

  • Identification and realization of cost-saving and cost-reduction opportunities.

  • Develop the supply base to minimize risk, avoid supply constraints and get the best possible value for the business.

  • Acts as the key point of contact for Danaher procurement and other OpCo procurement leads.

  • Works within a given budget to purchase all direct and indirect goods and services.

  • Manages procurement staff, develops best practices. Ensures staff are sufficiently trained. Drives the procurement department forward.

  • Ensures that products are delivered in a timely manner, and that the quality of the goods received is satisfactory.

  • Negotiates with contractors on price, payment terms, mode of shipping, and delivery time to secure advantageous terms.

  • Co-ordinates with other departments including planning, warehousing, manufacturing, and technical operations to ensure procurement meets their needs.

  • Meet regularly with operational and warehouse personnel to assess effectiveness of systems.

  • Evaluates the performance of vendors to decide whether to continue buying from them, including capability mapping.

  • Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements. Develops action plans to mitigate risks.

  • Maintains key operational and procurement metrics, including Danaher scorecards.

  • Supports costing and margin analysis.


  • Prefer 5+ years proven working experience in similar role and managing personnel

  • Experience with purchasing, budgeting, negotiation, supplier management and business analysis

  • Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain or related degree with a procurement focus (or equivalent work experience)

40% travel required between locations with opportunity to work remote 60% of the time (Fargo, ND and Madison, WI).
