This Software Engineer job is a unique opportunity to…

… be a leading member of the Flexo Software R&D team that is responsible for Esko’s Flexo printing eco-system, which includes Esko’s RIP (Raster Image Processor), high-end calibration technology and integration workflows with Esko’s plate making devices. You will participate in the product specification, the architectural design and the development of algorithms & code for the various products in the team’s portfolio. Additionally, you will also accompany the team in our journey to bring our software modules to the cloud in the coming years. In this job, you will work closely together with product management, technical experts, quality engineers and the documentation, support and UX (User Experience) teams within Esko. You will report to the Software Engineering Manager of the Flexo Software R&D team.

As a Software Engineer at Esko you will…

  • Contribute to the product specification and design discussions conducted within the team.

  • Develop new algorithms, new software and assist with the maintenance of existing code, both on the backend and front-end side and participate in code reviews.

  • Interact intensively with our quality engineers who are testing the new functionality and setting up regression tests for sustainability and assist our quality engineers with the analysis of complex problems reported by our customers.

  • Provide the necessary input to our technical writers for the user documentation of new features and modules.

  • Build up you own area of expertise and use this to guide your colleagues as well as stay up to date on software technology, tools, related Esko product and products of the competition.

Your Education and/or Background Experience will include:

  • A master’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science

  • Knowledge of the following programming languages: Java and C++, QT is considered a plus.

  • Relevant languages: English

  • A fundamental interest in physics and chemistry is considered as very valuable as the data produced by the software of the Flexo Software R&D team is used to create the physical printing plates so there is a close link with Esko’s plate making devices and the printing plate production process.

W e prefer this position to be filled on full time basis, but are open to more flexible ways of working or part time work.

This role can be filled in Ghent, Prague, Bonn or Itzehoe Esko office
