Role Summary

The Director will provide executional and thought leadership in all aspects of marketing and communication including PR, brand management, creative management, advertising (traditional and online), digital marketing (website, interactive, mobile, SEO and marketing automation), events (online and in person), regional marketing, social media, and CRM. This seasoned professional will have responsibility for strategic planning and execution of integrated global transformative marketing programs to increase engagement and demand. The Marketing Director will lead and manage a global team of marketing professionals. Line management responsibilities include recruitment, performance reviews, 121 meetings (at least monthly), identifying development needs, motivating the team to ensure IDBS has a highly respected, scalable and highly performant Marketing function.

Core Responsibilities

Functional: * Lead a team of corporate, digital and field marketing associates; responsible for retaining, developing, and attracting talented individuals and team leaders. * Drive the planning (annual and ongoing) and implementation of comprehensive marketing plans to support the commercial goals and growth of the business, including the generation of high quality, qualified leads from targeted markets. * Responsible for the global and regional alignment of campaigns with strategic market initiatives and ensuring the most appropriate and effective tactics and channels are incorporated for maximum effectiveness. * Provide global leadership for demand generation across the portfolio; generate sufficient qualified leads to maintain appropriate sales pipeline ratios; implement continuous improvements in demand generation process, i.e. list development, lead scoring, etc. * Innovate by experimenting with new transformative marketing concepts in controlled, measurable campaigns * Assume responsibility for all programs designed to generate brand awareness and product demand in the market. * Manage and collaborate with current vendors while assessing opportunities for the addition of new vendors. Manage the vendor selection and assessment process in accordance with QMS. * Develops and manages website and customer web journeys * Utilizes IDBS CRM (Salesforce) to track team activities, forecast performance and report metrics * Attend conventions, conferences, and trade shows as needed to accelerate learning and business growth. * All other responsibilities and/or other related duties as assigned. Leadership: * Line management of the Marketing team in accordance with Danaher’s Leadership Anchors and best practice to ensure a highly motivated and effective team where talent is retained and succession strategies developed and executed. * Advocate, and champion through demonstrable behaviors, the Danaher Core Values and Leadership Anchors. * Set clear performance objectives and goals for the team, aligned to the overall Go to Market and growth strategies, and work with the HR team to ensure an appropriate competency framework is in place to drive a high performing Marketing team. * Interview, select, coach, train, instruct, manage, and appraise the performance of associated Marketing team members and mentor associates as appropriate. * Review and plan team’s work, taking corrective action where required. * Actively promote and lead the use of Danaher Business System tools within own team through continuous development, integration and effective deployment. Identify opportunities for standard work and implement as appropriate. * Create and sustain a positive team environment displaying high levels of motivation and excellent team spirit. * Continuously appraise & ensure effectiveness of the Marketing team through objective metrics for improvement.

Quality Management: * Plan, organize, direct, manage, and evaluate the Marketing team activities and budget. * Own the Continuous Improvement of the department’s Quality Management System (QMS) in line with IDBS * Ensure team is compliant with company policies and processes. * Actively participate in Customer and Internal Audits and ensure all audited work is carried out in accordance with the relevant QMS procedures, updating procedures where appropriate. * Ensure the team maintains an appropriate level of knowledge of all IDBS products and related technologies and proactively train on new products, in particular SaaS products, to enable them to deliver an outstanding experience to customers.

Qualification
* Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, communications, marketing or the sciences. MBA or other advanced degree preferred. * 8-10 years marketing experience. Life sciences and/or enterprise software experience preferred. * Excellent understanding of and ability to articulate the various marketing techniques and philosophies including, but not limited to, Digital Marketing, SEO, Account Based Marketing and Challenger Marketing and derived value. * 3 or more years in people management experience with preference for experience in managing staff in multiple geographies * Expertise in the use and exploitation of a wide range of common and less-common marketing channels and tactics including, but not limited to, webinars, tradeshows, PPC, website/microsites/landing pages, LinkedIn, Infographics, advertising agencies and print. * Extensive experience with various digital marketing methods. * Extensive experience with successful implementation of a full range of global marketing programs/initiatives to drive growth; exceptional business acumen
