As the Director of Commercial Excellence, reporting to the Commercial Vice President, you will be the essential leader in driving revenue growth, efficiencies, and transformational commercial initiatives through a deep understanding of global markets and the life science industry. In this role you will be responsible for developing global commercial strategy, processes, systems/technology, and activities that enable the Aldevron commercial team to perform at maximum effectiveness. In addition, you will bring an analytical capability that enables commercial teams to continually improve performance and drive new revenue growth. The leader will be a key member of the commercial leadership team that takes Aldevron to the next level of business growth.
Provide strategic leadership to design and administer all sales processes, policies and programs to drive sales effectiveness and productivity.
Partner with the Global Sales Strategy Leader to design the optimal GTM structure in each region to drive above-market growth
Build an infrastructure to support and enable the commercial team to deliver on strategic goals and initiatives with clearly defined processes and tools that will drive efficiencies, improve sale cycle timelines, ensure progress and identify risks to meeting our objectives.
Utilize various methodologies, techniques, concepts tools and practices to ensure maximum effectiveness of the commercial team.
Ensures alignment of KPIs and targets across sales and marketing functions; facilitates efficient data reporting and analysis
Owns and manages critical commercial tools such as SFDC and Global Date in line with the needs of the global commercial teams; prioritizes investments in enabling technologies in support of sales organization productivity
Provides ongoing measurement of market visibility and win rate; drives continuous process improvements
Work cross functionally to understand current state and seek to find opportunities to improve current processes, eliminate unnecessary steps and create new workflows.
Continually improve global market data, competitor analysis, market dynamics, and business drivers that would be influential to our growth and strategy.
Bachelor’s degree is required; MBA preferred.
10+ years in Life Science including business strategy development and successful execution; international business experience required; sales or marketing experience preferred.
Cross-Functional Leadership experience a must with ability to communicate and influence at the highest levels within the business.
Tackle complex problems with attention to detail while remaining flexible and open to creative solutions
Experience with mapping and developing workflow processes and managing complex projects demonstrating the ability to collaboratively create robust global commercial strategy and aligned sales execution.
Strong business acumen and deep understanding of the life science industry, DBS tools kit, and global markets.
Excellent presentation and communication skills, analytical data proficient, self-starter and an orientation to action and problem solving, with a focus on long term success.
