Danaher Corporation Chemistry Manufacturing Associate in Bothell, Washington
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under supervision of Chemistry manufacturing manager or designee runs the chemistry production processes. Strictly follows the work instructions and creates the required records.
Organizes, restocks, and maintains laboratory supplies and chemical materials.
Prepares buffers and solutions by following manufacturing SOPs.
Provides help in staging raw materials for production including maintaining the levels of solvents and solutions at production workstations.
Packages air-, moisture-, and light-sensitive products.
Analyzes stock chemical materials using standard analytical instruments (NMR, HPLC, LCMS).
Maintains of chemical hygiene in the lab – cleans lab benches, balances and other equipment. Replaces waste bottles, broken glass- and sharp containers in the facility.
Performs periodic maintenance of laboratories equipment including vacuum pumps, vacuum ovens, rotary evaporators, balances and pipettes.
Organizes keeping the facilities’ records including log sheets of production equipment, maintenance records, SDS, etc.
Collects chemical waste and performs the waste treatment according to Chemical Hygiene and Environmental safety requirements.
Assists transporting chemical waste from satellite accumulation area to warehouse for disposal by CHO or other trained personnel.
Applies applicable OSHA and related local safety requirements to all assigned work.
Education or Experience (in years):
- B.S in Science (chemistry preferred) or AD with 1-3 years of experience in chemistry or biotechnology laboratories.
Knowledge and skills:
Basic knowledge of analytical instrumentation principles (NMR, LCMS, MS).
Experience in a chemistry laboratory environment and standard labware.
Ability to strictly following work instructions and safety rules and regulations including use of PPE.
Ability to require new skills.
Good oral and written communication skills, general computer sills using Windows platform.
- Must be able to perform medium work (as referred to code of Federal Regulations § 404.1567) lift up to 50 lb with frequent lifting or carrying to 25 lb objects
