The EHS Technician is responsible to develop, implement and evaluate safety policies and procedures. Providing leadership and technical expertise in the development of strategies, programs and training to ensure compliance and company standards with all applicable laws, regulations and SOPs. Improving safety and reducing/eliminating EHS related business risks.

This position is part of the Environmental/Occupational Health & Safety department and will be located on site at SE Bothell, Washington. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Monitor and manage levels of hazardous waste at each department’s waste area , ensure all waste is properly labeled and stored according to its classification.

• Perform all required hazardous waste and hazardous material storage area inspections, along with coordinate waste shipments with EHS Manager and waste disposal contractor.

• Develop and implement injury prevention strategies and program initiatives to minimize and/or eliminate occupational exposures in order to achieve world class safety performance.

• Ensure notification and corrective actions are put in place, performing inspections, trainings and audits.

  ​ The essential requirements of the job include:

• High school degree (or equivalent certificate) 5+ years' experience in the field of Environmental Health and Safety.

• AA or Technical Trade Degree with 5+ years of related

• Must be able to lift to 35 lbs., stand 50% to 100% of the day, obtain medical clearance to wear a respirator 60% of the day.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Bachelor of Science degree in field of Environmental, Health & Safety.

• Strong project, data, and analysis management skills as the position requires project manage across global operations.

The hourly range for this role is $27.98 - $44.00. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
