We are recruiting Product Engineer within a hard-working team to support the Biotech Product Engineering group in the technical aspects of Product Life Cycle Management (PLCM) (NPI, Sustaining, Process/Product Improvements) including both Biotechnology products and Biotechnology specific process as the need arises. You will write a series of validation documents which should be robust against external audits. You will lead product design/process reviews, validation studies, DOE’s, product failure investigations, problem-solving and change management activities.

Responsibilities in this role include:

  • Introduce new Filtration products by team working with R&D, Marketing and Manufacturing in accordance with the Stage Gate Process or Redevelopment of existing products post launch based on volume or other needs.

  • Facilitate Line transfers from other Pall locations.

  • Manage and execute critical material requalification’s

  • Solve problems by using 6 sigma tools, trend analysis, Design of Experiments, FMEA , process risk assessments etc.

  • Support the design and process Risk Assessment process on product developments / improvements.

  • Provide progress reports as part of Product Engineer projects and coordinate development and qualification batches.

  • Write detailed validation protocols for FAT, IQ, OQ, PQ and execute accordingly.

  • Collate and provide quality performance data in support of new product introductions, line transfers, product improvements and material qualifications.

  • Calculate product costs and run cost improvement projects.

  • Collaborate closely with suppliers of materials and equipment.

  • Take part in “focus team meetings” for allocated projects and present details from manufacturing.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Formal engineering qualification or equivalent experience.

  • Relevant proven experience

  • An understanding of Six Sigma techniques.

  • Knowledge of new product development techniques or product / process improvement techniques.

  • Familiar with process validation procedures and techniques, e.g. Process and product FMEA, Ishikawa diagrams, Pareto analysis, parts and process capability studies.

  • Able to write Factory Acceptance Tests and validation (IQ, OQ and PQ) documents for new products, processes and equipment.

  • Ability to work as a team member or to lead teams

  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
