Danaher Corporation Accounting Manager in Brea, California

General Summary

We are looking for a high-energy leader experienced in leading an accounting team in a fast-paced, growth-oriented Company. The ideal candidate exhibits the highest degree of integrity and ethics, and is willing to be hands-on, but able to delegate effectively.

This role is responsible for all aspects of accounting, including general accounting, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable for Radiometer America, HemoCue US, SenDx, Radiometer Mexico and any other Radiometer entities in the Americas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operations of the accounting department and meet financial accounting objectives.

  • Complete the monthly close process and required corporate reporting.

  • Responsible for talent management by recruiting, developing, and retaining associates.

  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.

  • Establish and implement accurate accounting methods, policies and principles.

  • Coordinate and complete annual audits (internal audit, sales and use tax audit, property tax audit, and others) and lead SOX compliance and monitoring.

  • Maintain standard work of all accounting tasks as processes and procedures change.

  • Actively seek opportunities to improve systems and processes that support financial closing.

  • Analyze the workflow of transactional accounting and drive processes towards lean methods and continuous improvement recommendations.

  • Manage the accounting system at the company, drive system changes when needed and train associates on accurate use of the system

  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements for the Position

  • Minimum of three years prior supervisory experience in the accounting/financial reporting areas.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA (Certified Public Accountant), MBA preferred

  • Advanced understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the ability to apply GAAP to new and existing transactions.

  • Experience with Revenue Recognition Policies, including Multi-Element arrangements

  • Proven understanding of FASB (Financial Accounting Standards Board) Lease Determination rules.

  • Proficient MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) with advanced Excel skills.

  • Strong systems skills, especially financial systems.

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX is preferred.

  • Automated expense reimbursement system implementation is preferred

  • Customs/Duties and transfer pricing experience is preferred

  • Primary language English.

  • <5% Travel

  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with Customers, Legal Counsel, Vendors, and Auditors
