When it comes to all things technologies and architectures, you will be the “right-hand” to the head of Danaher Digital! As a credible technology leader with vision, you will partner with and enable Danaher operating companies (OpCos) to define, architect, develop and deploy progressive digital platforms and applications that maximize the impact of Cloud, IoT and data technologies. You will demonstrate a passion for inspiring, motivating, educating, designing and building cloud-based platforms and applications for a diverse and challenging set of markets ranging from life sciences to health care diagnostics to industrials and to utilities… and will have great fun doing it and be a great fun to work with!
You can speak to and simplify technologies to any CxO or sit down and pair-program with our most junior developers. Develop trusted and respectful relationships with the development organizations by rolling up your sleeves and walking in others' shoes.
We are open to remote work from The Bay Area, Seattle, San Diego, Irvine and Los Angeles.
Develop, inspire and lead a small team of high-caliber architects, with proven track records
Develop a technology and architecture vision, collaborate with engineering to execute that vision, and deliver web-scale high-performance quality platforms and applications
Connect and understand multiple technical subject areas and market segments across Danaher OPCOs; provide hands-on detailed technical mentorship to development and operations teams
Architecture Review Boards: run or participate in architecture reviews and approvals
Design and deploy industry best practices; raise the bar on software innovation and processes across Danaher, including but not limited to Agile/Scrum/SAFe, SDLC, Release Management, Metric Reporting, DevOps, DataOps and MLOps, validations/governance, and more
Ensure that the organization is using the appropriate technology and software
Ensure that the organization is not using End-of-Life software or vulnerable/unproven tools
Define and deploy best practices in effective and efficient technology and tool/vendor comparisons and vettings; manage architectural meetings with partners and/or vendors
Lead by example to review code, look for design breaches, provide meaningful, detailed and relevant feedback to developers, stay up-to-date with system changes
Comfortably present and obtain consensus using multiple methods: Microsoft Office, in-person and remote presentations to both technical or semi-technical audiences
Ensure compliance and ethical behavior without exception
Travel to other domestic and/or international locations as required (about 25% on average during non-pandemic times)
More specifically, it is anticipated that you will possess the following direct experiences and skills during your progressive career (as they relate to the specified technology domains below):
Technology Acuity & Vision
Frequently described as “technology visionary”. Architected and deployed several large-scale Cloud, IoT platforms, Edge Computing platforms and Data & Machine Learning platforms (preferably in life sciences, healthcare or manufacturing).
7+ years of direct proven experience architecting and deploying IoT platforms and modern data platforms, along with IoT Ops and Data Ops
5+ years of direct experience architecting integrations with domain-specific applications and systems in manufacturing, med-tech and/or life sciences markets
Bachelor’s or Master’s in computer engineering, computer science or related subject areas
Executing for Results
Distinct track record of demonstrating “Entrepreneurial and Organizational Agility” by balancing the role of strategist with simultaneously setting and achieving bold short and long-term breakthroughs and metrics, managing and delivering results in a high-urgency, high-growth environment
Prior experience of superior organizational skills and an affinity for detail in driving accountability for success (timeliness, velocity, completeness, quality, cost) of all product work and initiatives
Successful track record to attract, retain, coach, develop, and mentor IoT/Edge or Data platform software specialists. Created a culture of openness and collaboration that fosters innovation. Inspired others to achieve results.
Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills – servant leader with the ability to collaborate, leading through influence across a complex, global organization to drive direction. Strong facilitation and negotiation skills.
Building Relationships and Using Influence
Persuasive communication and influencing skills with the ability to inspire confidence, create followers, and collaborate successfully with varied audiences. Able to use a blend of written (documents, papers, presentations) and verbal methods effectively and efficiently. Translate complexity into simplicity.
Provide insight and handle all technology related aspects with presentations and communications at Sr. management and CxO level, along with cultivating and nurturing relationships with influential architects in OpCos.
