How can you make a difference?

As a Flow Cytometry Sales Representative you will be putting your scientific knowledge to good use helping customers determine what are the best dry reagents to use and how you can have them customized for their needs.

What will you do?

The Field Sales Representative sells and promotes custom design services and products. You will implement the sales plan designed to achieve established sales and financial goals; calls on prospective and current company customers; may be involved in product demonstrations/evaluations at customer sites; involves technical personnel to resolve customers issues and problems as needed; may participate in the establishment of sales targets and design of the territory's sales plan; and controls sales expenses.

How will you get there? * Sell Flow Cytometry dry reagents to achieve quotas assigned. * Work with other sales reps and application specialists on common territory accounts in a matrix organization, * Search out new and competitive business and working with appropriate personnel to close the business. * Work with accounts to develop programs to expand and increase Beckman Coulter influence and presence at customer accounts. * Demonstrate Beckman Flow Cytometry reagents according to customers’ specifications and workflows as well as to corporate business goals. * Seek out high potential targets and present product overviews via seminars, lunch and learns and educational talks. * Responsible to manage west territories in the United States You are the subject matter expert for accounts that will include any clinical and clinical research accounts focused on Cellular Analysis using Flow Cytometry including: * Hospitals * Labs * Biotech * Pharmaceutical * CROs * Academia/Medical Research centers

Education * Scientific qualification at Masters or PhD level in a biological field required * Academic or professional experience in Flow Cytometry preferred * MBA qualification preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities * At least 3 years’ experience in a customer facing role and/or marketing in the scientific/laboratory segment (a business involving reagents/consumables selling experience preferred) * Ability to conduct in-lab demonstrations required * High flexibility and autonomous work methods and confident navigation in dynamic environment * Ability to lead by persuasion and influence * Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills in English * Experience of working within a global, multi-cultural, matrixed organization * Willing to travel extensively (up to 75%) * Successful candidate will live in the US West coast and within a reasonable driving distance to major metropolitan area and airport
