Danaher Corporation Manager, Product Management in Brea, California

Develops specific marketing plans and activities for specific product(s) or product line(s) to establish, enhance or distinguish product placement within the competitive arena. Develops business plans and product positioning in the marketplace. Oversees market research, monitors competitive activity and identifies customer needs. Establishes pricing strategies. Works with engineering, manufacturing and sales to develop new products or enhance existing product(s) or product line(s).

Position description:

  • Global technical product expert with responsibility for product life cycle management, product road maps, strategic planning, and maintenance of the Access Family of Immunoassay Systems

  • Department representative on product development Core Team with deliverables of: Voice of the Customer, Business Case, Customer Product Requirements, Launch Strategy, and Commercialization Plans

  • Gathers and assesses market and competitive intelligence, global trends, and displacing technologies

  • Develops product line forecasts in collaboration with Global Marketing and Supply Chain Planning and manage inventory interruptions

  • Product training to global marketing teams

  • Partners in the design, development and management of sales collateral and relevant clinical evidence

  • Collaborates with Scientific Affairs in Key Opinion Leader development and management

  • Supports VIP visits and key customers as required

Position Qualification

  • 9+ years in laboratory diagnostics, life sciences, or related field

  • 3+ years Product Management experience in laboratory diagnostics, life sciences, or related field preferred

  • Strong technical and financial aptitude; experience in financial analysis/modeling skills strongly preferred

  • Sales or customer facing experience preferred

  • Ability to work cross-culturally/cross-functionally toward understanding the dynamics of different markets / functional areas with adherence to policies and procedures

  • Strong work ethic, ambition and drive for success

  • Ability to multitask in strategic and tactical spaces

  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills with ability to build trust

  • Knowledge of competitive environments and laboratory workflow processes helpful

  • Results oriented individual with focused urgency

  • Able to work independently; self-motivated for continued learning

  • Bachelor of Science required; MBA or equivalent experience helpful
