TheManager, Tax Complianceis primarily responsible for the preparation and review of all US income tax returns, including US Federal, US international, and state & local tax returns for DentalCo and its subsidiaries. He/she will assist tax planning and tax accounting processes with primary responsibility for providing earnings and profits, taxes, GILTI, foreign tax credits and other tax attribute data to tax planning and tax accounting teams. This role will report to the Director, Tax Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Continuously improve tax compliance processes from a time, accuracy and productivity perspective. * Analyze newly enacted tax legislation with regard to its impact on the Company’s financials and tax compliance requirements. * Regular communication of tax issues and opportunities to tax leadership in a format that allows for meaningful discussions. * Support quantitative determinations of impact of transactions and internal reorganizations. * Work with managers in Europe, Americas and AsiaPac to understand tax planning initiatives and tax compliance requirements. * Assist in the integration of acquisition targets including purchase accounting and their setup in current tax processes and systems. * Support as needed IRS tax audit requests for historical planning transactions. * Stay current with respect to tax law changes in the U.S. and OUS jurisdictions. * Maintain regular contact with personnel at the Company’s domestic and international subsidiaries and divisions to ensure that any operational changes that may impact international compliance are understood and acted on. * Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of the Company’s accounting methods, policies and systems. * Undertake special projects, including tax due diligence relating to potential acquisitions and internal reorganizations as they relate to international tax, basis studies, earnings & profits, inclusions, and foreign tax credits. * Manage a team of approximately 2 tax professionals based in Brea, CA.
REQUIRED: * Graduate or undergraduate in Finance or Accounting * Minimum of 10 years of corporate tax and accounting experience. * Must be experienced in US and foreign tax rules (ideally Europe and AsiaPac), regulations, and transfer pricing. PREFERRED SKILLS: * CPA or Master of Taxation degree highly desired. * Prepares tax analysis in support of planning initiatives. * Attention to detail and strong organizational and project management skills. * Must have high intelligence and ability to prioritize on a real time basis. * Clear communication skills are critical. * Experienced, successful manager and mentor of professional staff. * Must have strong managerial courage – ability to make the tough decision and remain resilient * Will display and operate in a way that never compromises ethics and integrity, and will be non political in all dealings with agendas that are above board and understood by all. * Collaborative, team-player. * A positive, energetic and happy attitude. * Demonstrated ability to effectively manage tax activities across multiple locations/countries and across functional teams. * Effectively coach, mentor, and teach team members. * Maintain process designed to communicate information to stakeholders. * Consistently deliver results. * Significant international experience is required along with a strong global business perspective while functioning in a multinational organization with multiple business units. * Experience in the tax aspects of acquisitions and divestitures, including due diligence and post merger integration a plus.
