The National Applications Support Specialist will assist in the resolution of complex technical, clinical and business issues in a Customer-facing role. The successful candidate must demonstrate an ability to be a positive influence in product support and customer satisfaction. The National Applications Support Specialist will be responsible to respond to instrument and product issues that have been escalated beyond the capabilities of other Field Applications organizations.
The National Applications Specialist will participate in the installation and launch of new product offerings which may include working directly with Customer Key Operators during product validation studies. A primary role will be to reinforce customer training and ensure customers are properly prepared to utilize and maintain their Beckman Coulter products and instrumentation. The National Applications Specialist will be responsible for responding to customers’ inquiries and addressing any concerns they may have regarding instrument operation and assay performance.
All activities will be in accordance with published specifications and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will be able to provide clear, data driven communication that could support an efficient, root cause investigation and to help drive process improvements. The National Applications Specialist will demonstrate strong leadership on assigned technical initiatives that are critical to the team’s success. Utilization of DBS tools, strong teamwork and focused planning are needed to deliver positive results cross-functionally.
As a National Applications Specialist you will communicate and collaborate cross-functionally with Field Service, Field Applications, Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Product development, Technical Support and Supply Chain. National Applications Support Specialists will also interact with the Customer End Users in making process changes and will require an ability to influence and gain trust and acceptance in sometimes sensitive situations.
Focus on Quality, Compliance and DBS in all aspects of the role
Provide advanced technical and troubleshooting support to Field Applications Specialists, both at a Customer site and through remote phone support
Assist in development of procedural and technical standards documentation
Provide senior Mentorship to field personnel for released systems
Proactively recommend future product improvements
Exercise sound judgment, within defined procedures and practices, to determine appropriate actions and then implement approved actions accordingly
Work collaboratively across business units to build partnerships with OEM, Marketing, Service, Applications and Sales teams to ensure outstanding customer satisfaction
Provides DBS leadership to engage and leverage support across functions
Execute Action Plans for continuous process and product improvement
Bachelor's degree with a minimum combined experience of 4 years in a Clinical Laboratory or with Clinical Diagnostic Instrumentation or other related field
Proven excellence in communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
Ability to influence others and collaborate between multiple business functions
Advanced understanding of Clinical Diagnostics or the Healthcare Industry with a heavy emphasis on the Laboratory Regulatory environment
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), EP Evaluator (desired but not required).
Required to work out of a home-based office.
Willing to travel domestically at least 80% of the time (based on customer and business needs)
Ability to obtain a valid driver’s license and comply with Beckman Coulter safe driver criteria
