Job Description
Beckman Coulter Life Sciences seeks a highly motivated Program Manager to join our San Jose Product Development team. This position will be responsible for leading new product development and manufacturing capacity expansion projects of moderate to high complexity. The primary focus will be on plastic consumables that are part of an Instrument system using our novel Echo ® acoustic droplet ejection technology. The main responsibility is to manage projects as the Core Team Lead.
Specific Responsibilities
Lead cross-functional project teams as the Core team leader
Lead or facilitate developing project scope, user needs, design input, development and transfer plan, project schedule
Deliver products on time, within budget, meeting performance goals, and customer needs
Utilize tools such as risk management and problem solving to address project issues
Pursue risks aggressively, prioritize, and seek to countermeasure
Leverage strength of the core team to close gaps
Work seamlessly across functions to ensure required collaboration and engagement to deliver a successful project
Present project status at regular program, toll gate, and exception reviews
Interact with company & functional leadership to keep them abreast of program status
Minimum Qualifications Required
BS in Engineering
10 years of experience leading medium to high volume (100k to 1M/yr) plastic consumables product development
Track record of successfully taking products from concept to volume production
Skilled at managing tooling development and molding suppliers
Outstanding abilities in cross-functional project management
Experience with resource and task priority management
Excellent leadership, planning, and communication skills
Ability to hold teams and individuals accountable to timelines and commitments
Preferred Additional Qualifications
Post graduate degree (MS) in engineering
Proficiency with Visual Project Management (VPM)
Experience with micro-titer plate design, development, and standards
Experience in Life Science industry
