Danaher Corporation Senior Accounting Manager - Americas in Brea, California
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team!
We are looking for a multifaceted Sr. Accounting Manager to lead Radiometer Americas’ Financial Shared Services organization comprised of 15 associates. The ideal candidate will have the ability to operate at a strategic level while being capable of driving all aspects of accounting and tax that includes general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and collections for all Radiometer entities in the Americas including, but not limited to Radiometer America, Hemocue US, SenDx, and Radiometer Mexico.
Manage and lead all aspects of the accounting department and collections team.
Complete the month end close process and required corporate reporting.
Oversee the analysis of accounting data and produce financial reports or statements as needed.
Reporting of all taxes for assigned regions.
Coordinate and complete annual audits (internal audits, sales and use tax audits, property tax audits, and others) and lead SOX compliance and monitoring.
Establish and enforce accurate accounting methods, policies, and principles.
Analyze the workflow of the transactional accounting and drive processes towards lean methods and continuous improvement
Responsible for maintaining the accounting system, driving system changes when needed and training associates on proper system use.
Drive talent management through recruiting, developing, and retaining associates.
Position Specific Proficiencies / Experience
5 to 8 years overall accounting related experience with a minimum of 3 years prior supervisory experience in leading an accounting/financial reporting team in a fast-paced, high growth Company.
Advanced understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the ability to apply GAAP to new and existing transactions.
Experience with revenue recognition policies, including multi-element arrangements
Demonstrated understanding of Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) lease determination rules.
Customs/duties and transfer pricing experience preferred.
Experience in a manufacturing environment desirable.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA
MBA of Master in Finance preferred
- Primary language English.
Strong capabilities with Microsoft Office products including advanced Excel skills.
Strong systems financial systems skills.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX is preferred.
Automated expense reimbursement system implementation experience is a plus.
Travel (required estimated % of time)
- Must communicate timely and accurately with upper management and internal departments, including Sales, Field Service, Customer Service, Bids and Quotes, Legal, HR, IT, and Division Headquarters
- Customers, Legal Counsel, Vendors, and Auditors
