Job Description:

The Technical Support Specialist provides advanced configuration, implementation and technical support for the Informatics Cloud based middleware system. The Specialist will be the principle contact for scheduled implementations that are completed remotely in direct communication with customer laboratory and IT personnel. This position will also serve as the Tier 2 Support team responsible for assisting Hotline, Field Applications, Field Service and customers with advanced technical and applications issues. Individual must have general knowledge of laboratory and industry standards and practices including knowledge of data management systems, the healthcare IT industry, hospital/ laboratory data workflow, and /or instrument communication control (e.g. LIS, HIS, EMR). The incumbent must have experience with interface solutions (i.e. serial, network, ASTM, HL7), computer hardware and software, IT security, and networking. Confirmed experience and skill in development and implantation of complex decision rule sets and laboratory autoverification procedures. * This individual contributor frequently uses technical concepts, theories, principles, standards, and techniques in Workflow and Informatics Solutions. The position will require the individual to work with occasional guidance in own area of knowledge and develops skill sets beyond current level of expertise. The position is within the Global Technical Support Organization and will require interaction with multiple geographies around the world.

Expectations: •Global position with interaction at multiple levels of customer and BEC support personnel •Will interact with laboratory and facility IT staff to configure and implement the DxONE Workflow Manager Middleware solution. •Responsible for all configuration and setup of initial DxONE Workflow Manager Application for an assigned customer site. •Will ensure DxONE Workflow Manager Applications are configured and implemented in the same manner following established procedure and protocol. •Work with customer contacts to modify and update DxONE Workflow Manager configuration settings as needed. •Provide Tier 2 support and function as primary escalation point for Hotline and field personnel to address complex or unexpected issues.

Qualification
Requirements:

  • Experience with Beckman Coulter informatic's products, specifically Remisol Advance.
  • Prior service or applications training on Beckman Coulter Instruments including DxH Series, AU Series, and DxI/Access
  • 5 years of experience in applications support, field service support, technical support, engineering or similar field related to Beckman Coulter Diagnostic instrumentation and software.
  • Comfortable working with customers remotely via telephone, email, chat and remote desktop connections.
  • Experience with instrument and middleware data communication and networking including instrument and LIS interface configuration
  • Experience with clinical laboratory workflow and autoverification requirements.
  • Ability to develop positive working relationships with cross functional groups on a daily basis.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
  • Provide phone support to Beckman Coulter Informatics trained FSE and Application Specialists.
  • Ability to travel <30% required. Certifications and Training Training: Preferred – Beckman Coulter service and or applications training for instruments or middleware including: •Hematology – DxH Series •Chemistry – AU Series including AU680/480 and AU5800 •Immunochemistry – DxI / Access •Informatics – Remisol Advance

Certifications: Required – must possess or complete within 1st year * CompTIA Cloud Essentials Certificate * Available from Linux Academy and other online resources. * Amazon Web Services * AWS Concepts Certificate ( i.e. Linux Academy)
