The Field Service Engineer - QLD role for Leica Biosystems is responsible to support customers in the QLD and Northern NSW regions, by providing field service and technical support.

This position is part of the ANZ Field Service Team located in Brisbane / Gold Coast and will be a remote role. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.

You will be a part of the Queensland Field Service Team reporting to the Australian Supervisor who is responsible for Customer Technical Assistance and Managing the QLD/VIC/SA Field Teams. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide Installation, Preventative Maintenance, breakdown and upgrade support on Core Histology equipment, Digital Pathology Scanners (and infrastructure) and Advanced Staining Instrumentation.

  • Travel Statewide / Nationally and Internationally as required

  • Work both autonomously and as part of a National Team

    The essential requirements of the job include:

  • A current QLD Restricted Electrical License, National Police Check and Working With Children Permits.

  • Impressive Technical competence and demonstrable hand tool skills, strong Mechanical aptitude, with a willingness to embrace the unknown.

  • Must have excellent communication skills, with an ability to speak concisely to customers - both internal and external.

    Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

    Ability to travel – approx. 25% travel, overnight, within territory or National / International as needed.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving history and a Euro 5 Compliant Vehicle.

  • Ability to lift, move or carry heavy lab equipment, and be able-bodied to squat/ bend/ climb as per site installation requirements

    It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Clinical and /or Histology Laboratory and the operation of related equipment in this environment.

  • Analytical / problem solving skills: able to analyze and understand complex systems (pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and networking)

  • Precision Calibration as well as experience with tools such as Multimeters, torque drivers and Specialised Calibration jigs.
