Your Role

The purpose of this role is to support the growth of our Instrument, Service and Aftermarket business in the Nordic countries (Denmark, Norway, Sweden & Finland) by providing strategic and tactical leadership for our Mass Spectrometry (MS) & Capillary Electrophoresis (CE) products. The Head of Business will develop and lead a dynamic team, comprising of direct sales reps, a direct service and aftermarket team, a support specialist and channel partners across the region.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Nordics organization to deliver planned revenue and margin growth, outgrowing the market. Create and implement executable plans to achieve this growth across all segments and territories.

  • Develop the entire team through motivational leadership, coaching, mentoring and performance management. Develop the Sales team to become a best in class organization with exceptional competitive selling capability, utilizing the most up to date methods and tools available. Lead and develop the service team (direct and channel partners) to ensure overall customer satisfaction and service business growth throughout SCIEX instrument life cycle in the post sales environment

  • Build a synergistic customer approach between Service, Sales and Support to create competitive advantage for SCIEX.

  • Actively improve engagement of the Nordics team, measured by the annual engagement index.

  • Continuously drive process improvement and put in place standard work and KPIs using Danaher Business System (DBS) tools

  • Ensure compliance requirements are fully met by entire team (Code of Ethics, EHS, Trade Compliance, SOX, ISO, etc.)

  • Drive weekly and monthly forecasting process to ensure order and revenue forecast accuracy. Monitor market trends and competitor intelligence and communicate to the rest of the business.

We are looking for a professional who has:

  • a demonstrable track record of driving sales growth, customer expansion and market share growth in life science instrumentation.

  • experience of successfully managing a sales and/or service team and can demonstrate success in terms of achievement of targets

  • a proven track record in building and maintaining a healthy funnel of prospective leads

  • strong financial acumen – able to support budgetary and profitability objectives, with ability to realize these objectives while still winning market share.

  • a track record of recruiting, developing and retaining a high performing team of sales professionals.

  • successfully driven a change across the team; experienced in defining potential problems and implementing solutions

  • the capability & willingness to work in a matrix organization with direct & indirect reporting relationships

  • working knowledge or a good understanding of Separations / Mass Spectroscopy.

Your education

  • Undergraduate degree in Science (advanced Life Science Degree desired). MBA or other advanced/continuing education in business is ideal

Additional Requirements:

  • The position is preferably based in a major hub in Denmark or Sweden with easy access to an international airport.

  • Fluent in Danish and/or Swedish and English is required

  • Flexible to travel

  • Capability & willingness to work in a matrix organization
