We are looking for a Systems Engineer with specialization in Chemistry for Immunoassay R&D. Within immunoassay R&D we focus on engineering solutions for point-of-care (POC) immunoassay testing. Our products enable caregivers working in acute care make fast critical diagnostics decisions.
AQT90 FLEX offers a range of biomarkers that cover myocardial infarction, heart failure, infection, venous thromboembolism, and pregnancy. In acute care situations, when time matters most, AQT90 FLEX analyzer delivers reliable quantitative results, supporting timely diagnosis and workflow efficiency. AQT90 FLEX is a state-of-the-art medical device that combines chemistry, hardware, and software to provide the best patient outcomes.
The position is situated in Copenhagen, Denmark. You will be actively working with R&D teams in Denmark, Finland & India via digital collaboration tools and on occasional face to face meetings. This role will be responsible for applying chemical knowledge, systems engineering processes and utilize skills to develop systems within technical, schedule, and cost constraints. You will be part of systems engineering team with specialists in chemistry, requirements engineering, usability engineering, risk management, integration, and verification. As a part of the job you will work in close collaboration with designer within assay, mechanics, electronics, and software design. Intrigued?
Your tasks will involve:
Design and development of new concepts (requirements, risk analysis, feasibility studies)
Integration of concepts (FMEA, system decomposition, and integration studies)
Verification and validation of systems
Verification and validation of immunoassays (i.e. sensitivity, linearity, precision, interference studies, and stability studies)
Statistics (explorative data analysis, DoE, modelling)
Project management activities (stakeholder management, estimate realistic timelines, budgeting, drive activities)

Master’s degree or equivalent in chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics.
Experience in Medical Device industry standards and regulations (EU IVDR, MDR, CLSI etc.)
Experience working according to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
Experience in statistical and laboratory tools (R, SAS JMP, LIMS, ELN etc.)
Experience in product integration and verification across multi-disciplinary teams (e.g., chemistry, mechanical, electronics, and software).
Experience with leading the capture, design, development and maturation of systems, design trade-offs and new technology opportunities.
An experienced communicator, positively influencer and negotiator at all levels within an organization.
Ambitious to become Subject Matter Expert in product areas and coach other team members.
Following knowledge and experience are not required but an advantage:
Knowledge of System Reliability, Failure and Safety analysis.
Systems Engineering qualifications (e.g., INCOSE CSEP, ISO 15288) or working towards.
Experience in leading system design reviews and ensure governance including co-ordination of sub-system design reviews.
