The Director of Marketing is responsible for leading best-in-class Marketing execution to increase customer visibility and opportunity identification, drive top-line growth and improved market share gain. Reporting to the VP, GM Americas Region, this position will provide leadership to a Regional team responsible for defining and executing the Marketing plans to deliver the long-term commercial success for a diverse portfolio of products and services for Leica Microsystems (LMS). The Director of Marketing will collaborate with LMS Business Units and Global Marketing team to ensure implementation of standard methodologies and development of core capabilities.
Essential Job Functions:
Lead the Regional Marketing team and develop and build outstanding value propositions that support the go to market strategy for the LMS businesses in the Americas
Analyze, evaluate, plan and execute on both existing and potential marketing activities and strategies. Develop benchmark criteria to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of marketing programs.
Develop and execute a new digital marketing channels to deliver positive business disruption, incremental revenue growth and enhanced visibility and lead generation
Lead the processes, technology and resources to achieve opportunity generation targets and value metrics for the Americas in close alignment with LMS global strategy and priorities
Provide Commercial Leadership in LMS Strategy development and Policy Deployment initiatives
Drive adoption and implementation of effective daily management tools and standard work in all Marketing functions and activities, using Danaher Business Systems (DBS) tools and benchmarking standard methodologies in Danaher and external companies.
Responsible for talent management to ensure the continued development for direct reports. Partner closely with the human resources organization in developing interpersonal capabilities through succession planning, organizational assessment, identification of key skill gaps, talent acquisition and talent development strategies that link with business goals.
Create trusted relationships with team members; Understand what they value and support them in achieving their development goals. Coach the team to enhance their network and identify relevant / stretch roles or projects to support career progression
Integrate and coordinate all functional activities that are necessary to enable direct and indirect sales channels to achieve and maintain sales and profitability within the defined Market Segments
This role is part of the Regional senior management team charged with establishing strategic plans and objectives. Makes final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensures operations effective achievement of objectives.
Experience and Qualifications:
10+ years Market Management Experience in a Life Science / Healthcare organization - broad marketing skill set including Voice of Customer, campaign management, demand generation, market segmentation, digital marketing, strategy development and competitor assessment in multiple sophisticated business segments
Validated evidence of success in both direct line leadership and highly matrixed environments
The ability to lead multiple, complex priorities within demanding timeframes
Ability to train and coach team to adopt a DBS mind-set of continuous improvement and problem solving
Strong analytical, planning, forecasting and budgeting/financial skills
MBA or master’s in science a plus
Desired qualifications express expectations for ideal/fully proficient candidates; equivalent experience will also be considered.
