The Supervisor, Advanced Workflow Specialist Widefield will lead the team of Advanced Workflow Specialists and plan the strategic growth of the said team. Manage and oversee daily operations, as well as implement and manage metrics to meet department standards. Provide support to Leica’s Life Science Research customers, Sales Specialists, Account Managers, agents, and dealers in all facets of their selling activities. This includes, but is not limited to, visiting reps and customers in the field, conducting product demonstrations, training, participating in local and national exhibitions, handling phone and email inquiries, solving application and service problems, and providing customer feedback

Set strategic goals for AWS teams

Identify training and professional development needs, maintain training metrics
Evaluate AWS performance, provide feedback and guidance, conduct performance reviews
Be prepared with resources to ensure coverage to meet customer needs
Provide feedback to management on ways to increase performance and better serve our customers
Implement strong DBS culture, lead and sustain DBS initiatives as appropriate for the team
Perform successful product demonstrations to drive sales results. Schedule and coordinate demonstrations on confocal and Widefield products
Schedule and support product seminars, workshops, and customer and Leica courses. Test demo system functionality and continued system maintenance
Provide expert product, application, and software support to customers, sales, and service organizations. Triage technical problems during customer calls
Document and route support issues. Communicate and resolve support requests. Develop Protocols to Image Customer Samples
Minimum 1.5 proven experience providing technical, software, or application support to sales/technical organizations or research customers as a member of the Advanced Workflow Specialist Widefield Team
Demonstrated leadership skills. Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills
In-depth knowledge of biological imaging applications/workflows and Leica product portfolio
Teaching or training experience, provide training to others on how to apply imaging equipment and techniques to solve scientific questions
High level of computer proficiency with troubleshooting knowledge
Experience in a customer-facing support role (preferred)
Maintain and troubleshoot advanced imaging equipment, hardware, and software (preferred)
Experience with a customer-facing role (preferred)
Minimum of BA/BS in an engineering or computer science
Advanced degree preferred; i.e. Masters or Ph.D. in biology
Self-motivated, Detail orientation, Systematic analysis, Time management, Strong communications skills, Proficient in digital literacy (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, SAP), Strong technical, optical, and mechanical aptitude
Multitasker, efficient with multiple accounts within a large geographical region
Strong passion for customer support. Individual must be able to work with minimal direction out of a home office
Also, must be capable of working effectively with Sales Managers, Product Management, Customer Service Technicians and Representatives, Engineers, Accounting, Manufacturing, and Dealers.
Work in a constantly evolving environment. Good decision making and negotiation skills are vital.
