We're hiring a Technical Application Scientist to develop new product designs, processes, product scale-up, optimization, technology transfer and process validation activities, and accountable for supporting R&D from idea to product launch.

*This role is based onsite at our office in Concord, Ontario CAN*

Embedded within the project team, this person will be the customer advocate accountable for the following areas:

  • Support and drive ongoing technical development of the Echo Mass Spectrometry Systems for SCIEX in conjunction with the R&D teams. Characterize the performance of the technology using different sample types and applications.

  • Lead early customer evaluations engaging scientific leaders for feedback on technology prototypes during product development. Translate the user persona and collaborate to develop product requirements, ensure the requirements are carried. Define the validation strategy and contribute to and approve the validation plan.

  • Collect and analyze customer VOC to gain customer insight and test value of features, evaluate and provide feedback to technical de-risking development. Generate marketing data for launch in collaboration with tech marketing.

Key Requirements:

  • BSc, MSc, or PhD technical degree in life science

  • 3-5 years hands on LC-MS/MS experience; in-depth knowledge of LC-MS/MS workflows

  • Willingness to travel (internationally). Up to 20%

Key Attributes:

  • Excellent communication & presentation abilities to interact well with people at all levels within a matrixed organization. Proficient English both oral and written. Demonstrated ability to direct and motivate the product development team.

  • Understands and able to replicate customer workflows and task flows across markets, ie. Food, Environment, Forensics, Biopharma, Pharma, Life Sciences Research (Proteomics, Metabolomics, Lipidomics).

  • Proven track record to make decisions, positively influence others, and work well in a fast-moving environment. Outstanding attention to detail. Comfortable with ambiguity.
