Danaher Corporation Sales Representative Microbiology in Caguas, Puerto Rico

We are looking for a Sales Representative Microbiology who knows how to work with a team-based sales strategy. Our new Sales Representative will own, maintain and develop relationships with customers at all levels and use inhouse subject matter specialists to deliver a total solution to meet the needs of the customer.

This includes direct sales responsibilities, as well account management and distribution sales, where you will develop, maintain and foster distributor relationships at all levels.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Targets accounts for growth in line with target markets and accounts identified; implements fee increases or price changes; introduces new products and services.

  • Increases the profitability of existing accounts by analyzing profitability, product and service portfolio and communicating plans with customers and executing solutions.

  • Builds relationships at multiple levels within the account (e.g., physician, office staff); with internal support positions and with operations to maximize efficiency of processes.

  • Research customer problems and direct resolution/prevention to appropriate new Department/Area.

  • Account Management Activities when needed (pricing increases, etc.).

  • Prepare reports for management, provides accurate sales forecasts and weekly analysis of the sales funnel to assure that opportunities are properly updated and valued.

  • Collect and communicate market and competitor’s information to corporate management team on a frequent basis.

  • Target and secure profitable new business in line with regional marketing strategy by effectively targeting prospective accounts, creating in-depth prospect profiles, building relationships, prepare and present proposals, and securing the business.

  • Educate new customers on Beckman Coulter, processes and procedures to ensure accurate and timely transactions.

  • Participate with local leadership in developing overall business unit plans for increasing volume and profitability through implementation and execution of national strategies and initiatives.

  • Prepare and present proposals and bids by using all standard processes, procedures and templates.

  • Proposes pricing quote structures for potential and existing customers for maximum quantity sales volume. Ongoing follow-up with renegotiation on contract expiration, with approval of Sales Management and Controller.

  • Stay abreast of changes in the market place impacting customers. Maintain a working knowledge of company products and those of competitors and share this information with leadership.

  • Ensure total compliance with all company polices and government regulations.

  • Maintain customer contacts and pipeline management utilizing Salesforce.com.

  • Maintain and utilize sales tools/CRM Management to report daily SFDC updates, Funnel Management and customers contact information, feed Daily Management, Visual Management and Growth Room dashboards with corresponding, updated information.

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by manager.

  • Willingness to keep abreast of reporting and administrative requirements with high attention to detail.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering or equivalent is required

  • Minimum of 5 years of successful sales experience within the Healthcare Industry. Preferably in the In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) market and/or Microbiology.

  • Alternately, candidates may have experience in In Vivo Diagnostics (IVV) or Medical Devices or Hospital Sales.

  • Proven experience for revenue attainment, sales target achievement, and strategic sales planning is essential for this role.

  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required.

  • Excellent analytical/numeric analysis capabilities are required.

  • Willing to travel up to 50% of the time, including overnight travel.
