Pall Corporation is seeking a high-energy and distinguished Vice-President, Technology to provide strategic and technical guidance for Pall's $500MM Fluid Technologies and Asset Protection business (FTAP).

This role is perfect for a rising leader who is collaborative, forward thinking and has a track record of transformative product launches.

The VP, Technology can be remote based, however, there will be expected travel up to 40% domestic and international travel to our sites and customers located throughout the US, Europe, Middle East and China

Scope of Role:

The Vice President, Technology leads the Global Research and Development function, this includes: Global people leadership, research, new product design, new product development, manufacturing transfer, application development, engineering and laboratory services.

  • The VP, Technology will develop a firm understanding of customer applications and requirements, generating a portfolio of projects and technologies consistent with the strategic objectives of the business group, creating analytical capabilities to support technology development, optimizing and/or improving current development methodologies, practices and policies leveraging DBS, screening new technologies relevant to the business. Thus, enabling sustainable profitable growth through innovative new products and technology development.

  • Responsible for driving New Product Development (NPD) from concept through to manufacturing stage and deliver in an expedited time to market.

  • The incumbent will lead application development efforts by working with process licensors to become a specified technology provider

  • The VP Technology will furthermore lead identification and development of materials and technologies for emerging business areas.

People

  • Behind every Pall FTAP product is a talented team. You will drive the global people strategy with an emphasis on attraction, retention, and building a diverse and inclusive funnel of future leaders.

  • Drive the annual engagement survey as well as own the execution of follow-up activities, both for the organization as well as with people leaders.

Technology

  • Creation of strategy to harness new areas of valuable technology through both Open Innovation (OI) and internal innovation.

  • Represent the FTAP technology organization within the BU management team, in partnership discussions, and in external relationships and conferences.

  • Identify & Assess external technologies and integrate them into the Company’s platform through strategic alliances, sponsored research, and potentially grant-funded programs.

Innovation

  • During OI partner cultivation phases provides significant contributions including strategic rationale, due diligence, business case and term sheet development

  • Establish effective portfolio management by optimizing stage gate models through PPG and SIR leadership, work with DBS Office; ensure a direct and cohesive connection between operations and FTAP priorities.

  • Monitor scientific and related industry trends for FTAP strategic intents, and work with the FTAP Leadership team to identify new opportunities and enhance business ventures

  • Accountability for cost, schedule and technical performance of assigned project portfolios

DBS (Danaher Business Systems)

  • Develop and continuously improve processes within NPD and project teams, including all relevant tools from the DBS Growth and Leadership domains. Link business needs and opportunities to DBS and develop a roadmap to close gaps, install/improve process, and sustain results.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or related engineering area together with an advanced degree (Masters/Ph.D.) 15+ years of Research, Development and Engineering experience with emphasis on support and sustainment programs.

10+ years people management experience, directly and indirectly leading organizations of 30 or more individuals, globally in a multinational senior leadership position.

Desired Skills

Leadership experience in filtration and separation processes or related disciplines in key markets including Power & Utilities, Oil & Gas, Chemicals & Polymer and Industrial Manufacturing industries including knowledge of the regulatory and quality requirements of customers and the industry.

Position Competencies

Willingness to travel (international and domestic) up to 40% in support of project and business development efforts, and in support of a global staff.

Ability to consistently make timely decisions even in the face of complexity, balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness.

Effectively demonstrate ability to deliver on complex situations or problems without guidance or supervision.

Effective developer of talent with demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a track record of building and developing high performing cross-functional leadership teams.

Strong communicator, both verbal and written, to engage, influence and get buy-in from all levels of internal and external stakeholders.

Proven ability as a strategic leader that effectively prioritizes and leads in a complex, large-scale matrix organization.

Demonstrated ability to lead an organization through significant change without losing momentum; ability to inspire continuous focus on key business drivers, as well as Pall Industrial’s mission and values.

Experience in successfully leading DBS Innovation tool set or similar innovation tools; benchmark with Danaher Operating Companies for innovation best practices.

Demonstrates strong conceptual thinking skills, quantitative and qualitative analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong business acumen.

Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in innovation and business skill set through continuing education.
