The Manager-Production Operations for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for leading the Diagnostics Reagents production team to deliver products with High Quality and on time.
This position is an integral part of the Diagnostics Manufacturing team and will be located in Carlsbad, California. You will report to the Director of West Coast Operations, responsible for Reagents and Hardware manufacturing.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Ensures safe processes and actions, sustains proactive hazard identification programs.
Mentor & develops both hourly & salaried associates. Maintain flexible workforce of both regular & temporary employees.
Utilizes problem solving techniques to implement both containment & root cause countermeasures.
Strives for external quality levels of >95% FPY. Owns quality in area by utilizing QSB including documentation & follow-up, internal quality improvement & scrap reduction. Maintains procedures in an ISO & regulated environment.
Act as Kaizen champion for team. Drives team to identify & implement improvement opportunities in lead time & manufacturing costs.
Partners with support teams including Technical Operations, Supply Chain, Product Engineering, Finance & Maintenance.
Manages both direct & indirect costs in the value stream.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of experience OR Master’s degree with 7+ years of experience
Proven knowledge/usage with lean tools: Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, 5S, Kanban & Practical Problem Solving
Ability to work and influence supporting functions of the organization, including effective coaching and mentoring skills.
Good analytical skills, and extensive knowledge of analytical tools (Oracle OBI, Business Objects).
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Certified Practitioner in DBS fundamentals (Standard Work, Daily Management, and Value Stream Mapping).
