Would you like to support products you feel passionate about? We are seeking a Senior Product Transfer Engineer to join our consumables center-of-excellence located in Carlsbad, CA. As a core member of our manufacturing team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate design changes for existing products and will lead transfer projects.
Plan, develop and execute product transfer projects from R&D to manufacturing or one site to another site that enables new production capabilities or transfers to existing manufacturing capabilities.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with all related departments, lead discussions, problem-solving efforts, and timely issues resolutions to ensure site transfer projects meet or exceed delivery expectations.
Serve as a technical liaison for the transfer team regarding technology transfer activities.
Lead complex risk assessments (PFMEA),
Confirm the accuracy of bills of material (BOM) and other relevant product documentation.
Work with ERP team to ensure new materials are loaded into ERP system.
Lead efforts to create pFMEAs, control plans, and manufacturing work instructions
Develop manufacturing plan, equipment, process, and test method validation plans, and process validation protocols.
Train manufacturing and QC associates, work with manufacturing, technical operations, and QC to execute engineering/proto build lots and process validation lots.
Record necessary deviations, write validation reports.
Conduct manufacturing readiness review meetings for transfer phases.
Handoff newly transferred process to sustainment team

Work experience in chemistry or consumables manufacturing environment.
Experience in new product introductions, design transfers, and manufacturing scale-ups
Ability to tackle complex problems; take a new point of view using existing solutions.
Ability to communicate key business-related issues or opportunities to senior-level management.
Experience using continuous improvement tools.
Good interdepartmental communication skills, presentation skills, and documentation skills are required.
Ability to evaluate new automation technologies/platforms to support new transfers.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Occasional travel to other sites or training and support as necessary (< 10 %).
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio.
Education and Experience:
B.S./M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or similar discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience in the life science industry and/or chemistry consumables, focused on new product introduction or process transfer and production support/sustaining engineering.
